Toning brassiness in lightened hair, help?!

I had my hair bleached and toned about a month ago and since the toner has washed out, I was wondering what I can do to get rid of the brassiness. I already use a purple shampoo and that’s not doing much for me, could I use a lightening spray to get rid of some of the orangey bits in my hair? It says it gradually lightens 1-2 shades. Has anyone tried this before?! Help ):

The best toner for a longer lasting toned hair is using a ash or beige toned hair colour mixed with a low level developer just leave on the hair for 20 mins, try looking at

I use delorenzo nova fusion silver tone shampoo. It’s awesome. My hair dresser also suggested to wet your hair with a water spray bottle and massage the shampoo in and leave for 20 minutes or so, just to avoid standing in the shower that long. Good luck!

I think orange needs to be toned with blue pigment instead of purple and to cover the dark orange you need strong toner than blonde toner. You can also use light ash brown dye to tone out orange color. i am going to try lightening spray now.

I swear by Fudge purple shampoo – I’ve tried a few but none measure up 🙂

I tried Schwarzkopf Extra Care Blond Toner. I have only used it twice. The first time I didn’t notice a difference but I didn’t leave it in my hair long enough so the second time I left it in longer and I noticed that the brassiness was gone. It’s a decent price so may be worth a try.

My favourite for when I was blonde is Schwarzkopf Ice Flower. Great for both Orange and Yellow tones. And it’s only $21.99. And it lasts for ages!

Grr we don’t have this product where I live in NZ, we miss out on so may great products for blonde hair!!

I’ve tried quite a few blonde toning shampoos, and the best by far is the Fudge Clean Blonde Shampoo.

I’ve lost count how many times I’ve repurchased it!
It does a fantastic job at eliminating brassy/yellow tones. It has the ability to give my hair a silver/purple-ish tone if I leave it on for too long. Highly recommend it for toning blonde hair :).

I agree with Sam91- the Fudge Clean Blonde shampoo is BRILLIANT. I have balyage hair at the moment and I recently went very ashy blonde at the ends (my natural colour is dark brunette with some warm undertones). It is the only thing that helps with brassiness!

I also use this Nak violet toning mousse every now and then which helps. The Fudge shampoo is better though!

I am going to give this a go!!!
