Those scissors

I was wondering what are those scissors called i see the hairdresser using on my hair?
they like drag them through your hair and i think they look like they have zig zag pattern on them! is this dangerious? i think she did it to put layers in my hair but i was quiet worried
someone please tell me so i can calm it down

    lol! thanks i feel so much better now, yes i do have very thick hair and it has created a lovely wave also on my hair as i let it dry usually doesnt feel so heavy anymore!
