Shampoo and conditioner for oily hairD

Ok so this is an age old debate that i need help with. I’ve tried 100s of brands of shampoo and conditioner and my hair always seems to adjust to it. I don’t care what the price is, I just need something that will give me a thorough cleanse but without drying my ends.

Thanks misfortune8, I’ll be purchasing that shampoo today!

Yeh I guess that’s a good thing! Well hopefully my skin starts to calm down in my 30s-40s. Do you find that getting skin consultations and expensive treatments beneficial for your skin type or is it a waste of money?

I’ve been repurchasing TRESemmé Deep Cleansing shampoo for years. http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/hair/shampoo/6707-tresemm-deep-cleansing-shampoo I occasionally alternate when new products come out, but then it’s back to the TRESemmé. I don’t like their conditioners much though. I bought L’Oréal Elvive conditioner for years, but I recently tried Schwarzkopf Extra Care cpnditioner (black bottle) for my balayaged ends. http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/hair/conditioner/29473-schwarzkopf-extra-care-hair-care-ultimate-repair-conditioner& it’s become my new favourite. I don’t believe you have to use all products in the matching range.

Creamy shampoos leave me greasy on the second day, but with a clear shampoo I stay cleaner longer. You might want to try alternating. I don’t mean using a bottle of one shampoo then using a bottle of something different; have two shampoos in the shower & swap every time you wash your hair. I’ve found what works for me, it takes patience.

Thanks to all these hair oils and leave in treatments on my ends I have started to develop some bacne 🙁

I swear oily/acne prone is the worst skin type.

    I know the feeling OP!
I started to get dandruff beginning of this year and to combat that I’ve been using an anti- dandruff shampoo once a week, which has gotten rid of it. Since then my hair has been in the worst condition it’s ever been!! My roots have become twice as oily and my ends have become even more fried. I’m so upset by it as I feel like my hair is getting worse. I am now washing my hair twice a week which I absolutely hate.

My hairdresser told me to comb my hair before washing it (to move all the oils down) and I’m currently using redken all soft once a week on my ends. If you find a good clarifying shampoo let me know, I feel as though my roots just have layers upon layer of oil 🙁

Always apply conditioner after washing your hair and please use conditioner according to your hair whether it is dry or oily.

Always use herbal products because they are chemical free. They don’t give any side effect to you.

Don’t open your hair always whether you are inside or outside, because it contains dirt and dust.

If you have split ends then you can cut or trim your hair once in a month.
Apply oil 3 days in a week in your hair before sleeping in night. But take care, if you have oily skin then apply oil only once in a week and wash your hair after 1 hour of oiling.

have you thought about washing your hair a little less often and then using dry shampoo on those ‘between’ days?

my skin used to be over the top oily, but it turned out to have been because i was using cleansers that were too ‘stripping’ for me, and so the oiliness decreased because my skin was no longer ‘overcompensating’ for the ‘reduced oil’…
