Permanent Hair Straightening

I am thinking about getting my hair Permanently straightened because my hair is so frizzy and hard to maintain and was curious if anyone else has had this done? and if you guys have negative or positive feedback on it?

I straighten my hair for a very long time. ‘ve used many different brushes, but then found the best option! Now I am guided in this question here http://hairbrushguides.com/

Best I have ever used is the Karmin Cocoa Keratin 🙂

I’m really unhappy with my hair atm and considering getting it permanently straightened and styled. Does anyone have any updates on permanent straightening? What about those groupon deals? Do you think these would be ok to use since they are heavily discounted or should I just pay full price somewhere?

I haven’t had hair straightening, but I’d like to add my voice to Imi11’s comment about Groupon in general. I’ve redeemed heaps of Groupon, Cudo & SUREdeal offers – they’ve all been the legitimate deal. It makes sense for salons (or restaurants, whatever) because it attracts new customers which can return for other services, or just spread word of mouth about good service. I’ve had laser hair removal through one of these deals – awesome! Not a dodgy half-arsed service at all.
If you’re dubious, take Lina23’s advice & do online research.
Do it! Why pay top dollar if you can get a deal?

I would be very careful about getting a Groupon for any service, but especially hair. If you check on Google, you will see that there are many cases of services being oversold, people not being able to get bookings, and worst of all, shocking service. Permanent straightening can be extremely damaging to your hair if its not done by someone with a lot of experience and training. In saying that, the first time I had PS in Aust, I did it through a Groupon, but I did my research online first to check out the Co, rang the salon before I booked to see who would be doing it (you don’t want the apprentice practicing on you!). They were great, and 3 years on I still go back every 12 months to get my regrowth done (and get specials through their Facebook page).

There’s nothing wrong with Groupon deals, they are the same product just discounted.
I’ve used a Groupon voucher for a resturant and it was awesome!

I don’t think it would hurt to try it for permanent straightening.

I’ve had this done twice, my hair was already pretty straight, but the ends always flicked up quite a bit which annoyed me a lot. Since it’s only the ends i was worried about i can’t say exactly how long it lasts, but an estimate would be it lasts until all the hair that got done was chopped off.

My recommendation would be keratin relaxing treatment- doesn’t completely straighten your hair but it smooths out the hair shaft and makes your hair feel much softer and less frizzy.

I can’t remember what type I got done but it was expensive. The results only lasted about 3-6 months and I had a patch of hair in the back and in my fringe that snapped off. Not keen to repeat 🙁
