My hair needs serious help! (Wedding prep and general every-day annoyance)

Hi everyone.

So, the story is that even though my wedding isn’t for at least another 18 months (we just got engaged so we’re still in early stages, and we’re still working out finances), I’m already freaking out about my hair. The reason being, my hair is thick, course, dehydrated, frizzy, and alternates between dry and oily as it pleases. I also have dry and itchy scalp and dandruff, and most shampoos and conditioners leave my hair feeling weighty. This is also something that’s been annoying me in day-to-day life, and I’ve just had enough of it. The wedding just gives me more motivation to do something about it.

I went into a health-food shop today looking for oatmeal shampoo (my dog has similar problems with his skin and coat so I’m trying oatmeal shampoo for him, which is where I got the idea) and the lady working there suggested coconut oil for the scalp, until I find another solution that works.

So, what I’m here to ask is, does anybody have any tips or suggestions or past experiences with similar problems? Any help is much appreciated! Thank you!

Have a lovely day, everyone. 🙂

Hey lovely, as a hairdresser i would address your scalp issues first. The coconut oil would be perfect and a natural alternative to clear up the scalp flakiness. As for the frizz you could even rub the coconut oil all through your hair as this would be an intense treatment for your hair. I would definitely recommend this as a pre-wash treatment. Put the coconut oil in your hair for 1 hour before washing and clip up or put on a shower cap or glad wrap to keep the heat in your hair. Then do two thorough shampoos how to wash out all the oil and conditions as usual.good luck with this hopefully you’ll see some good results

    Thank you very much. 🙂
