Moroccan oil hair treatment – any good?

Hey beauties,
I read your reviews on Moroccanoil Treatment and it sounds good. Most of you said that it softens your hair and makes it shiny and healthy. I would very much like to try it but like a few of you said, it’s quite pricey. I’d hate to buy one and find out that it doesn’t work on me. Could anyone confidently say that it can soften my tough and stick-like Asian hair? Does anyone know where I can get a sample?
Your help is much appreciated! Thank you!!

Hi girls ! you posted this in 2011 but I thought I’d still bring my contribution.
I have used argan oil on my hair, skin and nails for a while now and it has completely changed my live as I tend to have very dry skin and hair.
I order it from this fabulous website which sells organic Moroccan argan oil and offers amazing discounts, 30% at the moment.
I thought you might find it useful 🙂 Hope that helps!

I use Organix Moroccan Argan oil, only on the tips, and it’s fixed all my split ends and damage from straightening. I asked my hair dresser but she doesn’t know much about it as her salon doesn’t deal with it.

I was amazed at how little Argan Oil that actually contains. It’s right near the end of the ingredients list :S

without being rude, I don’t really care. I paid $6 for it at WalMart in the USA lol, I figured if it didn’t work it was no great loss as opposed to the $25-$50 it costs here. I’m not bothered much about the ingredients (except for nasties) as much as whether it does what it claims to.

I use Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Oil leave in treatment after each shampoo and I love it but I read through your post and thought you might be interested to read what was on their website Pro-naturals.com scroll to Advice, Buying Guides and look for Argan Oil Uses & Benefits if you want to read the whole article or scroll down to the following heading
“Pure Argan Oil or Products Containing Argan Oil?
    The answer is…BOTH!”

Hi RetroD11 – I am from Singapore, straight grey/white/black coarse hair. I use Moroccan argan oil leave in treatment by Pro Naturals. I use it after every shampoo, on the ends and 2/3rds up the hair shaft. I stay clear of the roots and scalp. This protects my hair – when I use a blow dryer and if I want more curly hair, a styling iron.

One of my best friends is a hair and makeup artist on Sunrise on 7 and has been a celebrity hair dresser for over 20 odd years. She uses and recommends (and yes, she sells it herself) Silk oil of Morocco. She told me the reason it is the only Moroccan oil she recommends (including to the celebs she works on) is because it is the only Australian made Moroccan oil that uses 100% certified organic cold-pressed Moroccan oil.

The Silk hair and skin serum also has the highest % of Moroccan oil of any hair serum in the world (13%) and she said this is the absolute perfect % for hair (she mentioned that has been shown in scientific tests).

I use the serum she gave me (after using Moroccan Oil for a while and not really liking it) and it is absolutely brilliant! While I got a yellowing with Moroccan Oil, I have never got this with the Silk serum. And, it smells stunning too.

She has a full article about the silk range and why it is so good on her website and you can get the serum there (cheaper than the recommended retail).

In the interest of transparency, I have told her I’ve posted this – this is not just a plug for her site – I just want to contribute to the conversation with information from someone who really knows this stuff 🙂

    Her article is here

I went out and bought the Seven Wonders Treatment Oil and the spray and they are both pretty good. Not as heavy as the original Moroccanoil but I think I like the spray the best as its easier to use, not heavy at all on the hair and its also made my neck and shoulders lovely and soft! I got it from http://www.faceache.com.au but there are other places you can get it I think.

I found Morrocan Oil too thick for my very fine hair so I use Mythic Oil, which seems to work a treat on me 🙂

i use moroccan oil – the full strength one, everytime i wash my hair. Its made my hair so shiney, so much more managable, and its grown so much. I put a 20c piece size blob in my hair when its damp and blow dry it. I highly reccomend it.

i have no idea about the silicones – but i find i only use it when the hairdresser puts it in … i can never get the balance right ..

I use the morrocan oil light about twice a month and have found it improves the condition of my hair making it silkier and more manageable. I am concerned about using it too often as I have heard that this product has silicones in it that can build up on the hair and cause it to break. Can anyone confirm this? Or am I being cautious without good reason?
