Glosscar Winner – Trip to Franck Provost Hornsby Salon

As one of 10 Glosscar Winners of the awesome prize pack earlier this year, I was gifted a trip to the Franck Provost Hair salon at Hornsby because L’Oreal’s Professionnel Pro Fiber Auto Regenerate Long-Lasting Care Activator was a Glosscars winner.

I’d love to share my hair journey with you:-

My appointment was at 1:30pm today (23 July 2016) at the new Hornsby salon. They have been open for 2 months.

The technicians were lovely. They greeted me warmly, asked me if I’d like a drink (tea, coffee, water, champagne), and invited me to sit down.

It is a very inviting looking salon. Lots of different stations, lots of light (two walls of floor to ceiling windows and down lights), modern and clean looking, and a fantastic looking bar down one end. A nail bar!

We had a chat about my hair. It is long, dead straight, very fine but healthy. Initially I had been offered a Pro Fiber treatment and Blow Wave but it was decided that the Pro Fiber treatment works better on hair that isn’t as healthy as mine, and it wouldn’t have the desired effect on my hair.

So I had a Kerastase treatment instead (The Kerastase Serum Jeunesse is another Glosscars winner, so all good).

Over to the hair sink I went for a shampoo, condition, treatment, relaxing head massage and warm head wrap. I almost felt guilty that my husband was looking after our toddler outside. I could hear her yelling…but he figured it out 😉 And I continued to enjoy being pampered.

After a towel dry, it was time for a good spritz of Kerastase serum, and a blow dry. The cool thing about this blow dry was that it wasn’t what my hairdresser usually does (pulls down with the brush and blow dries at the same time to get my hair straight). It was a blow wave – which means that the brush is being rotated and pulled out, so the hair gets a wave or soft curl to it. It does take longer to do, but it looks great.

And then out came the styler, and curls. Wow, my hair refuses to curl for me, no matter what I do to it, but here they were!

A quick spray of hair spray to hold the curls in place and my hair was done. I loved it!

I was told the treatment would last 6 to 8 weeks, depending on how often I wash my hair.

It was also great to be able to discuss a plan for my hair. I pulled one grey hair out yesterday, but I’m sure they’ll be many more. It is great to know that I don’t have to dye all my hair in one hit, which would mean you have to maintain that colour. There are new L’Oreal products that target greys, and are subtle, and other things your stylist/technician can do.

I was most impressed by the team at the salon. They were a very friendly team and it was obvious to me that customer service was their priority. There was no awkwardness, I felt completely okay to ask questions and it wasn’t intimidating. For a mum of three children (two teenagers and a toddler) who rarely gets the opportunity to visit a hair salon, and when I do, it’s a quick trim, it was such a lovely experience.

There is a menu of services on their website for hair and nails.

I would definitely highly recommend the Franck Provost Hornsby Salon.

Pictures to follow, folks!

Thanks for sharing your experience and posting the photos Seezora.

Your hair is in awesome healthy condition, I love the pretty feminine curls, they really suit you too. So happy for you that you could enjoy some pampering and by the way, you look far too young to have teenage children 😉

Completely agree with you Claire (and Kassalee too) – you do look too young to have teenage kids Seezora!

Love those curls. I`ve got hair that, if soft, doesn`t hold a curl very well. My hairdresser curled my hair last time I visited, but she brushed them out & I lost all of it within 1/2 an hour. My hair just went back to looking straight & a bit limp. :o( I don`t think she was “”on”” that day.

      My thoughts exactly! Claire88

Mum of a toddler – Yes – but goodness Seezora you look around the age of my 23 yo daughter – must be the face mask!

Seezora thanks for sharing your lovely experience. Your hair looked amazing before the treatment. I love the curls

Seezora, thanks for the Kerastase review from your Glosscars prize. It sounds like something I should try because of my thin hair problem. It’s either this or Aveda thickening range.

Absolutely fabulous, Seezora. I do love the reality check, coming back to earth for the toddler!!!! You’ve done brilliantly.

Seezora, excellent review. I want to give kerstase products a go, but I think i need professional help. Rather than trying to assume what my hair type is and what treatment it requires, I think i should go into a salon to get some advice.

Your hair looks amazing before the treatment, but looks “Disney princess” like after. I love how the curls have relaxed into a wave. I have the same issue in that my hair doesn’t maintain curls, it’s not stick straight, but is frizzy, so tries to retain its mushroom cloud look.

    Great forum topic Seezora !

You have put so much effort into this and it makes for enjoyable reading.

Treatment by Kersatase sounds great and the results are brilliant ! Glowing report on the salon – I’ll keep them in mind !

I was already sold on Kerastase (Loreal) professional products after lucky enough to be chosen for one of their treatments (Discipline) just on two years ago through bh. I think 4 of us went – another beauty there at the same time as I. Bh did an article for it – don’t know if I could find it!

The results look brilliant ! You have lovely hair to start with and your skin is still looking fab from the face mask!
