Try using some hair oil like almond oil it does help.

I’ve had success with turning around an itchy scalp with Redken’s Soothing Balance Scalp Relief shampoo.

    Redken Hair Cleansing Cream.
It’s a clarifying shampoo designed to cleanse your hair of ANY kind of build up. It’s terrific at getting rid of dandruff and deep cleansing your scalp as well as your hair.
It’s easy to find in a department store, it is abit expensive, but the results will speak for themselves.
And it doesn’t strip hair colour.

I have sebhorreic dermatitis (oily, itchy scalp) and am allergic to many sulfates and parabens in skin and hair care products and used to scratch myself silly until I tried Moo Goo (as recommended by the lovely Melmeko). Honestly it’s amazing and will be such a relief for your sore scalp. Other brands that work for me are Al’Chemy (I like the Rosemary Shampoo or Rice Amino one or their unscented range). Never had any problems with them stripping my colour either. You can purchase MooGoo online at http://www.moogoo.com.au and Alchemy at most health food stores (eg. Go Vita) or online at adorebeauty.com.au. Hope this helps! xx

Avoid using shampoo and conditioner with cheap sulphates, Moo Goo does work wonders at rectifying the itchy, red scalp but it takes a few attempts to get it back to healthy. Then stick with quality shampoo and conditioner and if you use anything and notice your scalp getting itchy again scrap it as you know it will be the culprit. I always have my Moo Goo on hand in case I try something new that doesn’t agree with my scalp 🙂

Im having the same problem atm.

    Just a quick question.
DOes moo goo strip your hair of colour?. As i have red red hair i dont want the colour to go away as im taking so much care with it.

    xxxx

I had coloured hair while using moo goo and i didn’t notice any damage to the colour. it’s very gentle.

Considering the cost it wouldn’t hurt to buy the products and try them. you could easily list them on the swap thread if it’s not for you… a lot of members seem to love moo goo

I’ve used it on coloured hair too and it didn’t strip any colour for me 🙂

Nah it is all natural and also extremely gentle i dont think it would strip haircolour because it is desinged to care for all sorts of skin conditions and scalp conditions so it is a really mild formula.

I definately have to agree here. I had similar problems to you with a sore, irritated, dry itchy scalp and the only thing I found that gave me relief is moo goo. I also found it has revitalised my hair and given back my natural wave/curl. Moogoo hair products also smell yummy like vanilla icecream 🙂
