DESPERATELY NEED HELP IN STRENGTHENING MY DAMAGED HAIR

Hey Guys,

I really need your help…

I am a male with short hair, and i would like to grow my hair longer (because short hair doesn’t really suit me).
The only problem is that my hair must be really SENSITIVE, because it dries up and and gets damaged very easily and always has dead ends and looks really damaged whenever I try to grow it long – which results in me having to cut it short again
It’s really weird, I can have really good strong healthy looking hair one day, and the next morning when I wake up it’s dry & damaged (it just doesn’t make sense to me)

I have read up heaps online about ways to protect your hair & prevent it from getting damaged – I only wash my hair once or twice max per week, and i never brush my hair while it is wet to prevent damage… but still it is dry & damaged

I have tried heaps of stuff like deep conditioner treatments, oil treatments and every natural remedy that you can think of – coconut oil, olive oil, avocado, honey, aloe vera, onion, egg, mayonnaise etc… but nothing really seems to help

Can anyone suggest any treatment or any good deep conditioners that they have tried and actually works for them with actual results??? (keep in mind i have already tried many different ones with limited results)

I have also heard of treatments such as “Olaplex” & “Cureplex” that apparently work well? Can anyone that has had them done recommend them?

I really appreciate any help or suggestions, because I really want to be able to grown my hair long and be able to slick it back like all the other guys are doing atm.

Are you eating well? Taking any medications? Both of which can have an effect on your hair. I have very thin, fine hair that can break or damage easily. I like using a pea size amount of oil (been using Hask Macadamia, monoi, or keratin, all of which have been good) after my shower. I even wash my hair every day (which is usually not advised), and it still stays nice :).

I use Pro Naturals which is a hair repair system and the common ingredient in this product line is argania spinosa (argan oil). I started using it in December 2014 and still do. I follow their suggested regime, see pro-naturals.com/au/ and read how it works.

It could be possible that your hair is sensitive to protein, and many commercial treatments contain lots of protein. You will know if your hair is sensitive to protein if it makes your hair feel more dry and brittle (I found this out the hard way). Some people find that even coconut oil can dry their hair out. My hair seems to respond well to jojoba oil or argan oil. I’ve had good results with the Argan Intense Hydrating Hair Masque from an Australian company called Silk Oil of Morocco. I like this product because it doesn’t contain silicone:

Try this……. Wella SP Luxe Oil. (It used to be listed here on BH but it’s gone). My hair was so dry and frizzy, and I had so many split ends. I’ve been using this for a couple of years now, and I can’t see myself stopping anytime soon. My hairdresser always comments on how healthy my hair is. I bought some for my mum too, and her hairdresser is now complimenting her on her healthy hair. It’s not cheap, but as you use only a tiny amount, it will last for ages. I get well over 12 months out of a bottle. It smells amazing too.

I use Sukin’s protein hair treatment mask once a week, apply to wet hair after shampooing and leave on for 15 minutes and wash out. Schwarzkopf EC Hair Repair BB Baum is also good. Can be used on wet or dry hair. I find it works better when used on wet hair.
