Coconut Oil for Hair – Best Brands?

Hey Y’all,

So, I’m keen on trialing coconut oil for my hair. My hair is pretty dry and fine so I want to really be careful with what I use (my hair tends to fall out easily). Any suggestions on what’s the best coconut oils out there for hair without breaking the bank?

Thanking you!

I love using my extra virgin coconut oil…I use the same one on my body and hair as I cook with! Bonus, if I’m in the kitchen and need to moisturise my skin, my coconut oil is withing reach – great for my finger nails too!

    Hi,

Before applying coconut oil to your hair heat it up slightly and then apply to your hair and massage lightly in circular motion leave it on for half an hour and then wash.

i bought my from supermarkets, health food stores or chemists. I love using it on my hair. There are many brands out there and i don’t really know which would fit the category of best brand. I only look for the “cold-pressed” and virgin coconut oil when i purchase.

I warm it up in my hand, or sometimes if it takes too long, I do like what other beauties mentioned above, put it in a bowl and leave the bowl in a hot water bath for a bit and it will melt.

i’m planning to use it in my cooking as well.

Think I need to start using coconut oil in my beauty routine since it has so many uses and is a relatively natural product.

I am probably the only person that dissagrees with Coconut oil on the hair, i love eating it, using it on my skin and as a make up remover as well as making my own coconut oil lip balm but it doesnt agree with my hair, after i was it, my hair looks limp and dull, so i wash again and still no change 🙁

Haha you and I both. I adore coconut oil and I thought it would work wonders for my hair but no matter what technique I used it made it a greasy mess. Even just applying a small amount to my ends became a total tradegy >.< lol I put it down to having really thin hair strands but a lot of hair

i also use the Melrose brand, i think any kind would probably be ok as long as you get unrefined virgin oil.
