brushing hair in shower

i have thick, damaged, blond hair that is always knotty and find it easiest to brush y hair in the shower when its wet. ive been told that this is more damaging but have no idea why or of a better solution. i have heard of detangaling brushes but not sure if they really work or if i can just keep continuing what im already doing, any advice?

I find brushing in the shower really good as conditioner makes it easier to pull the knots out of my hair. I don’t think it damages your hair so long as you use a wide toothed comb

I always use a wide tooth comb. Never use a brush on wet hair as it will break or damage your hair.

It is true that if you brush your hair in the shower or when it is wet your hair will surely break. It is better to comb your hair when it half dry with your fingers r wide toothed comb. Apply olive oil or coconut oil the previous day or the day you plan to wash your hair comb it and remove the knots.

With loads of my favorite slippery conditioner (Organix Coconut Milk) that I let sit for a while, I first use my fingers to roughly finger detangle then run a plastic white tooth comb (I got a few from priceline) starts from ends and then work my way up to roots then a thorough one from roots to ends. Works well.

If I brush my hair in the shower, I use a wide tooth comb and its usually when I have conditioner on it. Otherwise yes, brushing your hair when wet can use it to break. Definitely don’t use a normal hairbrush for it though.

As long as you don’t use a normal brush in the shower its fine, I have a plastic flat comb with round edges. It doesn’t snag on hair or pull it too much.

I like to brush my hair in the shower when I slather on conditioner. Conditioner detangles your hair and it’s much more easier to brush it out as opposed to if you brushed it out after you’ve shampooed. I brush in gentle and with a wide tooth comb, it’s more gentler. If you don’t like to brush it in the shower, you can always brush it out after conditioner with the tangle teezer (it’s popular for effortlessly detangling hair/knots and removes frizz). You can find it in Priceline or if you want to go with an alternative option, the Lady Jane Tangleze, http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/hair/hair-brushes/lady-jane-tangleze-trial-team-13494

    Good luck! (:
