Miss Dior Cherie has been changed!

I hoped it wasn’t true, and am still kind of hoping… I read somewhere that the Miss Dior Cherie Eau de Parfum is being replaced by a new 2011 version… I just went on to the Dior website and sure enough the notes listed for the original (and beautiful!) Miss Dior Cherie Eau de Parfum are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT to what was released in 2005… the smell i’ve fallen in love with!

This has been my signature scent for 4 years. I haven’t smelled the new altered version of it yet (it is in the same bottle). It’s a bit deceiving to change the notes of a perfume but package it in the usual bottle…

Has anybody else heard this? or smelled the new 2011 version? I’m dieing to know if it even closely resembles the original 🙁

    I think they should just give the new Miss Dior another name. It’s silly to just change the scents of a well loved perfume. Not everyone will realise they have changed and some people will buy the new one a be disappointed. Quite a strange thing to do really.

    Oooooooohmygosh!

    I am utterly mystified!

    I just can’t believe it when this happens… it’s shocking, a little like a break up only… you really won’t be able to smell them again 😀 hehe..

    I agree with fgamz, discontinuing the old fragrance was a really odd move and it would be better if they just re-named the new perfume… Ms Dior Cherrie if if was for an older audience haha!

    Best of luck in finding your lovely loved fragrances before they are all gone!

    these are the notes from both old and new

    Miss Dior Cherie Eau de Parfum 2005
    Christine Nagel

    Top: pineapple, cherry, strawberry, mandarin
    Heart: popcorn, caramel, jasmine, rose, violet
    Base: patchouli, musk, amber

    Miss Dior Cherie Eau de Parfum 2011
    Francois Demachy

    Top: sparkling citruses (mandarin orange);
    Heart: Rose Damascena, intense jasmine;
    Base notes: Patchouli, Vetyver, Sandalwood, Moss, Amber

    i am excited to see the new miss dior cherie, however i dont think they should discontinue the old one and replace it altogether, just my opinion, they def should have changed the name or something.

    they wanted miss dior cherie to apply to an older audience as she is no longer “young” but older and matured.

    if you go to this link you will see the difference in bottles so you wont get confused with the old one.. theres not much difference, just the label..

    I was given Miss Dior as a gift a few weeks ago, and was super excited because it’s always been one of the bottles that lures me in for a sniff of the samples, but I’ve never bought it before.

    I remember being a bit confused when I opened it up for it’s first spray, thinking it was different to how I remembered. I put it down to my bad memory, but this explains it!

    Still lovely, but somehow, not as unique as the original me thinks.

    Oh no! I have been wearing this for over two years now, it’s the scent I notice straight away if someone else is wearing it. It’s so beautiful, why would they replace it? Why not create something different and call it so?
    Seems silly to me.

    I love Miss Dior Cherie as well. It’s a gorgeous perfume. I use it sparingly though as it’s a bit expensive for me to buy all the time. That’s really unfortunate that they’ve changed it. I do not understand why companies do that to major high selling products that people have fallen in love with. It doesn’t need to be changed, obviously. Why???? I don’t understand.
    If I was you, I go searching for stock while stores still have it.

    I have no idea why they’d decide to change it!

    I went in to Myer today to smell the new version… It is similar but not as strong, and lacks the strawberry/caramel popcorn smell the original had. It’s nice, delicate, and wearable… but definitely not the same!

  • No way. This is my all time favourite and i was going to get some backup in the US just hope i get old stock.

    Why change it up? Cant they just make a new name?
