Is Spadent teeth whitening procedure common?

Hey! I’m at my aunt’s house in Burlington, Canada. My aunt asked me to do teeth whitening procedure as there are stains on my teeth. So I have consulted a dentist in Mount Royal Dental Clinic in our locality. He told me about Spadent teeth whitening procedure which I’m hearing about for the first time. Has anyone here had done this procedure? Just want to know if it is a common one or not?
