I am another on the trial (never used Optic White normal nor Express) and find the minty-ness a bit too strong from the usual OralB I’ve used. I have not experienced any discomfort on my gums nor teeth and found my teeth to be whiter already after 4 days.
That said, it may be because I am not a whitening toothpaste user to start off with, hence faster results.

Oh and by the way all, despite writing my product review five days ago, it’s not yet been published. I had given it three stars.

They’ll probably do all the reviews at once. Due date isn’t for a while yet. I think we got a full month of using it.

Oh Lush, I will probably binge next time I find myself in their store… “I’ll have one of EVERYTHING please”
Please keep me updated on these toothy tabs and the deodorant. I just find it doesn’t work which is why I use antiperspirant even though I know it’s naughty…

I’m lovin this toothpaste. I did find it hurt my gums first time, but thats cos a glob of tp was sitting on my gums the whole time I brushed. It’s sensitivity to the bleach. I don’t get it any more and I definitely think my teeth are looking whiter!! And it leaves less of a film than the original OpticWhite toothpaste on my tongue so that is pretty fab too!

So I’ve just sent in my review for the trial and I have no idea as to whether it will be published. I did my very best to keep my personal opinions out of it except for the tips / ideal for section. Participation in this product trial was a real eye opener for me.

This BH-initiated trial and review gave me the opportunity to further analyse the product label. Not every tube of toothpaste so carefully outlines each ingredient it contains, however major brands such as Colgate are fastidious. As a part of my participation in this trial, I did some further reading and made some shocking discoveries, which included the inclusion of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (or SLS: an ingredient used in many manufactured shampoos and detergents, used primarily as a foaming agent and can be an irritant), PVP or Polyvinylpyrrolidone (a water-soluble polymer or plastic used as one of the abrasives to assist in removing stains from the teeth), PEG or Polyethythene glycol (used to bind with the thickening agent in the toothpaste to stop it from separating)… what a lesson.

I do not purport myself to be an expert in any way, shape or form, however I do have some wonderfully smart friends who helped me put some of the pieces together. I will go so far as to say I will be finishing the tubes of toothpaste I have here in the house, ensuring I rinse very carefully and will be looking for a more friendlier product to purchase. I’ve already been to Lush and bought their Toothy Tabs to try out.

I just can’t get over how I’ve been voluntarily washing my mouth out with soap, plastic and fake sugar for years, and I didn’t even bother to check what I was doing. I am so ashamed.

I don’t know why this comes as such a shock?

if you’re truly concerned about ingredients in products
    and still using regular deodorants/antiperspirants
that would be one of the first thing I’d switch!

What do deodorants have to do with toothpaste?

I think you missed some of the key points, such as not all tubes of toothpaste listing their ingredients (and this particular one did), that there are distinct parallels / correlations between toothpaste ingredients and that of soaps, and that this trial allowed me the opportunity to learn more. Lastly, that I’ve bought a green dental product?

Comments such as yours border on shady.

I KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION!!!
They are both hygiene products, right? And they go into or onto your body so some will get absorbed?

I’ve probably missed the point too.

How are the toothy tabs going? I luuurve lush!!
I am also keen to know if anyone has an effective safer alternative to antiperspirant cos I do sweat and I really would rather not smell 😉

    Love to all

Hey Emma Ocean, (lol) yes they are in a sense both hygiene products however is a cleaning agent for in your mouth and the other a preventative (i.e. if it’s an anti-perspirant) or a perfuming product (if a straight out deodorant) applied to your armpit.

I’m still giving the tabs a proper go before I say anything definitive. Since they look like lollies it’s a completely different approach to cleaning your teeth! I will say this, it will make life easier for taking toothpaste onto the next overseas trip. After this trial, I went on a bit of a Lush binge (I’m a big fan of theirs too) and bought a bit of everything, from soap, toothy tabs, hair mask, face mask, serum, facial scrub, down to deodorant. Hubby even received shaving cream. Can you tell I’m a fan?!

I’ve noticed a slight shade difference in my teeth. I don’t mind the foaming but I find the paste burns my gums and lips a little. It goes away after a rinse my mouth, but it’s odd though.

I am on the trial team for this, and been liking it. The only thing i didnt like is the foaming ( and now it makes sense due to the SLS content )!!! I like the way it leaves my mouth though- minty and fresh, and i can see colour changes in my teeth after pretty much 1 week.

I’ve been using this daily and haven’t noticed a significant difference in the colour of my teeth. I also don’t like the way this product foams, it just feels unusual.

    Hi Anita
i notice a slight colour change to my teeth, but not drastic.
The foaming reminds me of soap.
