Thrush?

so I’ve got clag glue looking discharge. a slight itch in the vulva, an itchy anus…

I already have a topical cream from another fungal thing i had on my arm a while ago, but nothing to treat the inside. I have had thrush before but its been about five years so im not one hundred percent sure thats what ive got. I’ve been taking lavender baths to try help it, trying not to use panty liners and to eat/drink things like cranberry juice. yoghurt. etc.

last time i went to the chemist and got one of those tablet things to incert up there. but i dont want to go to the chemist unless i have to. do you have natural remedies? how long do they take.

I wouldn’t screw around, I’d get something from the chemist. Also, avoid synthetic undies, stick to pure cotton & try to sleep pants free. Don’t use perfumed toilet paper either.

Yes, going to the chemist and asking for treatments is embarrassing! A good home remedy for thrush it is a lemon douche. I think the reason it works is because it changes the PH level in the vagina.

Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into a cup and dilute it with water. You can use one of those douche nozzle things from the chemist or a plain syringe (if you’re very careful when inserting – sharp edges!). Very slowly and gently syringe the juice in and wash it around all the nooks and crannies several times until there’s no longer any evidence of the thrush. Also squirt a bit of the lemon juice on any other external affected areas. Of course, the easiest place to do all this is the shower! Your case sounds fairly severe, so you might need to do it every other day for a few days (it will sting if you do it too often). In addition to this you can just use some plain old anti fungal cream (such as Clonea) on external areas. That cream is available right off the shelf in the ‘fungus’ area at Chemist Warehouse:)

Remember, I’m not a doctor. I only found this remedy on the internet myself some time ago, so be careful and good luck!

Avoid sugar as that is the natural breeding ground for thrush. Most if not all of the commercially bought cranberry juices are not 100% cranberry and are full of sugar so avoid! You are better off drinking 100% natural kombucha and kefir from a health food store.

Go for a natural yogurt for eating as you want to increase your ABC strains in your gut. Also go get some live cultures from the chemist (the ones you have to keep in the fridge). And I really would go see your doctor; you want to nix this ASAP.

Plus, if you’re having sex, your partner will have it also so you will need to treat them as well as yourself at the same time. Otherwise you’ll just give it to each other time and again. Oh, and pee after sex. Every time.

    TUD x
