    Elliptical workouts are my fave
You can choose a range of time
range of time and calories you want to burn etc
They have estimations of calories burned, so I usually pick the smaller number, but if you do a couple hours, you may just burn up those cals .
It really, really helped me lose weight (about 40 lbs in 4 months).

Lifting heavy weights and lower reps helps to build muscle and the more muscle you have in your body the higher your metabolism and the more calories you burn on a daily basis.
And don’t think that lifting heavy weights will make a women look muscly, it is very hard for a women to build big muscles. Before I got pregnant I lifted very heavy weights, I lost nearly every inch of fat and I was toned but did not have noticeable muscles. BUT now I’ve had to go down to 1, 2 and 3kg weights which doesn’t do much for me.

Also mix the heavy weights up with some cardio, low impact is fine. It’s better for your joints.

Then eat healthy of course. Less fat and sugar, more vegetables/fruit and grains.

Lots of cardio! I have a friend who lost about 20kg in a year just by running and eating healthy on those days he ran. He ate unhealthy or normal when lunching with me, so it’s not a completely strict diet, but it’s sort of there as well.

He started running two days a week and then spread to 3 days when it became piss easy for him.

This guy… couldn’t beat me, an asthmatic, in running 5km before, now he’s able to do 10km no issues. He was fat and now he’s not 🙂

It is easy to lose weight quickly but you should follow a proper diet and excises. For that I have searched in search engine and found some tips in getfataway and excise process in sallysymonds. By following the tips provided now I am very happy with my shape and got perfect figure.

I hope it would be helpful to you.

I have recently been on ‘The Six Week Cure For the Middle Aged Middle’ diet by Dr. Eades. Not usually a fad diet but there is a book behind it backed up with a whole lotta science. It has three phases, basically 3 shakes, 1 meal a day for two weeks, full on protein for two weeks and then maintenance of a low carb diet for the last fortnight. The shakes were not so bad, just not fun when eating with other people. The full on protein I have found harder as there is no dairy and I’m cooking for always starving men that must have bread with every meal.
I would really recommend this. I start week 5 on Friday. I lost 6kg in the first two weeks and 2kg since then. And in the past 10 days I have not been what one would call ‘strict’ and have certainly indulged on numerous occaisons. The best part is that the majority of the weight is from my middle YAY!

I’d really like to lose that pesky 1kg that doesn’t seem to want to go away (I put on about 3kgs last year and lost 2 of them. Doesn’t sound like much but my clothes just feel tight. Maybe I should read that book by Michelle Bridges about losing those last 5kgs

My biggest problem was how hungry I would get. Limiting calories only exacerbated this. That’s why I found the dukan so much easier – you can eat as much lean protein as you want. If you want to eat a kg of chicken breast then so be it. Cutting out carbs and sugar also meant that my blood sugar remained stable which made me feel much better. I realised the effect that eating carbs had on my body. Afterwards I really feel like my body has been “reprogrammed” so eating a small amount of carbs/sugar doesn’t have the same bad effect on me that it did before.

To me counting calories and only eating certain foods is tedious and hard to stick to for a long term fix.
All I do is cut back the amount I eat by sticking to 6 meals a day; breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks in between. It means I can still eat what I want, just a limited amount. I’m not big on junk food anyway and since going vegetarian last year I’ve lost weight without even meaning to (plus it’s hard to be tempted by the likes of KFC when you don’t eat meat).
As far as exercise goes I’m looking to get into the defence force so for maybe 2 years now I’ve been sticking to their fitness program. It’s great for building up muscle and getting fit, there are different levels too so you can chose the intensity and track your progress as you go 🙂
I’d seriously recommend giving it a go, even if you’re not interested in joining the df.
