Dry Body Brushing ?

Who has tried dry body brushing (with a natural bristle brush) for detoxifying, exfoliation, circulation and cellulite reduction?
Does it work?
What do you recommend?
Thank you.

Thank you… I think I will get a (vegan) natural soft bristle brush (the others are usually made from animals/hairs like boars) and see how it goes. As it is I generally only exfoliate once or twice a week because after years of trial and error, I’ve discovered that’s what works best for me.

I’m like TheUglyDuckling. I’ve got the brush hanging there in the shower but I rarely use it. Plus my exfoliating glove sits with all my extra products too and that barely gets used. But I do need to use them so badly with summer coming and wanting to wear more skirts and dresses, I’d like to have nice arms and legs and be comfortable with them.

I’m thinking of getting a full body scrub, have my skin nice and fresh and keep in a habit of dry brush so my skin stays that way the majority of the time.

Also how often does everyone dry brush? Coz I don’t want to be too harsh on my skin.

I haven’t done it in a while. My dry body brush is hanging there next to my shower, waiting to be used. It’s a routine that, when you get into it, it’s a great thing. Much easier to start doing when it’s warmer.

Don’t scrub your body hard as there’s no need to go hurting yourself; go gently as it’s about circulation. I also found it easier to start from the feet and work upwards, but to sit on the edge of the bath at this point and then stand up once I got to my butt. Once you’re done, jump in the shower and go from there.

Oh, make sure you clean your body brush regularly as you are hitting and slightly exfoliating skin, so it needs a wash too.

    TUD x

I’ve done it and I think it’s a nice self pampering even if it doesn’t have the circulation and cellulite benefits (I’m pretty certain myself that it wouldn’t have detox benefits)

I definitely prefer with a natural bristle brush working up towards your heart and going down from your shoulders and arms towards your heart.

I’ve used it when I was losing weight as it apparently helps with loose skin but it’s hard to tell whether it helped because I don’t know how it would have been if I hadn’t done it!

I have tried it with a natural bristle brush and also with an exfoliating glove.
Start at your feet and work your way up. It takes a bit of getting used to, maybe try it every second day to start off with. It definately improves your circulation and makes your skin smooth and soft and the massaging effect helps with cellulite.
    Would definately recommend it.
