Body oils

Hi ladies!

I received (like most of you would have) an email from Beauty Bay and it finally gave me an answer to a concern that I have had.

I have dry legs, thanks to all the years of shaving, and I find that body lotion/butter/moisturiser or anything for that matter doesnt really help long term.

So the idea BB gave me was body oils. Which is funny, because when i use a tanning oil (naughty i know) i always find that my legs feel sensational afterwards. Im surprised I never thought of it earlier.

I have never really heard of body oils hence I dont know which one to go for. The one recommended by BB is close to $50 and at this stage, I dont really want to spend that much. Their other products are also fairly pricey and I havent heard of those brands.

Has anyone use a body oil for hydration? Can you recommend a brand?

Has anyone else even heard of body oils? Or am I the only one living under a dry rock haha

I’ve used a Garnier body scrub which contains and oil. I’m not a big fan of the floral scent but it leaves skin feeling smooth soft and moisturised.

I get really dry skin too (especially in winter!) and I have used macadamia oil which is fantastic. I did hear Jojoba was good for sensitive skin though.

please suggest anyone which body oil or may be body lotion should i use or prefer as i have a very dry skin and sensitive skin too….

I think Jojoba Oil fits the bill for you (it isn’t actually an oil, but rather a wax ester). Jojoba oil is non-comedogenic so it is safe for all skin types – especially sensitive skin.

A simple effective natural body oil is Jojoba Oil.

Jojoba Oil is almost identical organically-speaking to sebum, which is the natural oil produced by your skin. It is a great natural moisturizer which can also help with acne, it penetrates into the skin without clogging pores and is suitable for all skin types plus it contains vitamin E and antioxidants which help fight aging signs and moisturizing the skin.

I love body oils. My absolute favourite is Nuxe, followed very closely by Pure Fiji coconut body oil. I also love MOR Marshmallow body oil.
I also highly recommend Milk & Co body oil. It’s actually become my preferred choice for night
time use, as it has a lovely soft lavender scent. It’s only $12.95 for the bottle, but currently on sale at Priceline for $10.39. I picked up a bottle of it today from BigW, unfortunately our local Priceline doesn’t stock it 🙁

I have very dry skin and body oils have helped over the last 20 years. They are an addition to not a replacement for a good moisturiser is what I have found. I use oil straight after my shower to lock in the moisture and then after I’ve done my facial skincare I put body moisturiser on and do my hair and makeup.
