What was your first subscription box?

My first was LHI, then Bella box. I was getting both of them for a while there then last year cancelled both of those and got violet box. I’ve been really impressed with it so far and found some good stuff.

My first subscription box was Elizabeth & Clarke. They do basic shirts (usually white or black, although this season has a light pink shirt. Yay!) 4 times a year. Bland and boring, I know, but if I spend any more time shopping for a stupid white shirt, I will go crazy and no one will judge my husband for leaving me in a store.

I meant to go for Violetbox, but I got distracted. LookFantastic has my attention as well. I may scoop one up for April if I can.

I’ve also got Beauty Joy, but my package got lost in Melbourne at some point last week. Hopefully it shows up this week. :/

MeganA – I know your pain of basic shirt shopping! I scooped up three white shirts with a flattering neck for my shape and weight (with a pocket that I can live with) at the recent Country Road sale. There’s nothing worse than only having the discoloured tees that used to be white!

I’ve never heard of Beauty Joy… I would check it out but I’m trying to cut down, not buy new ones! lol.

Mine is The Parcel. I Wanted to sub to another one sometime ago, but after reading a lot of mixed reviews, I got quite overwhelmed by the choices and am with The Parcel atm.

CherryBlossom, if you have Instagram, look up #lfbeautybox. Someone usually posts the box content on the first of the month so you can see if it’s something you want before you order it. I’ve noticed a lot of people have been doing that lately – waiting for the contents to be posted before they order. It’s nice that with this box, you can just buy the months you want. Perfect for those of us who TRY to be good, but still want to get a good bargain beauty haul. 🙂

Hi Lucrecia, I’m not on Instagram or know how to use it or anything, but I did Google search and saw some photos for some of the previous months’ boxes.
The products look good, I like trying brands I haven’t come across before, and free shipping is great. I may get a box in the coming months. Thanks, I didn’t know you can buy just a single box, and it would be nice getting a parcel from the UK!

I have to say that I love Lust boxes, I know they have been a little slack, but I love receiving them. Lucrecia629 what do you think is your favourite box to receive?

I’m loving The Parcel. It really is good value and it’s brands we all know and love, so it’s definitely worthwhile. But my favourite is lookfantastic’s beauty box. In addition to well known brands, they also have some premium brands and items we can’t get here (lookfantastic is UK based). For example, the January box included a full size Nuxe mask that I’ve never seen available here in Australia. The March box will be my third box with them and I haven’t been let down at all so far. I would definitely recommend checking them out.

My first was Bellabox. It’s been a bit hit / miss, but I have received some incredible boxes from them when I do get a good box ie full size Kora products (twice) last year springs to mind, so it makes up for the more average boxes. Plus it’s still at the original price.

I usually like the contents of Lust Have It, but am not a fan of their issues over the past 5 or 6 months with consistently late boxes & poor communication. If I drop a box, it’ll be this one first.

I find Violet Box interesting & usually good value for money. I’ve discovered some wonderful new brands through it.

The Parcel is my absolute favourite though – looking forward to getting my autumn one this week sometime.

Not impressed with Native Box after an average 1st box and a very substandard 2nd box – I’ve recently cancelled my membership with them

BellaBox – January 2014. It started out great, but after 3 months, cracks started to appear. HUGE variations among customers (some getting boxes worth 2 or 3 times the value of other customers’ boxes), lots of products I wouldn’t use or didn’t suit me, declining customer service… I waited until November, hoping to see them make improvements but they never did so I cancelled.

VioletBox didn’t wow me. Lesser known products, mostly made in China and full of parabens. I cancelled after about 3 or 4 months.

Currently I just have The Parcel (quarterly) and lookfantastic (monthly). Thinking about trying a Korean Beauty Box. Would love to know if anyone else has tried one that they would recommend?
