Share your act of kindness

For me it could be helping someone out of a car, stepping out of the way or out of the seat so another could take your place, helping someone with their groceries, contributing to ‘New Day Box’ (as some of us here on BH have), even making a donation.

This year has been a big year for me personally with regards to being kind, as I have received so much kindness during my low times in 2014. Whether you believe in karma, the circle of life, have a cultural or religious obligation, even if you are simply a nice person or it came from you naturally, what was your act of kindness (one or many) that you gave as we come to this year’s close (and Christmas)?

Happy Holidays x

While at work, I was serving an elderly lady who started to cough profusely for more than a minute and then started shaking.
myself and my team member were a little worried if the woman would be ok if she left the shop as it qas at the airport. So i went and got her a bottle of water and grab a chair from the back office and let her feel a little comfortable until she could calm down somewhat.
Poor lady she said thank you so much ,it made me feel that people should help others even when it isn’t asked for. As she walked out the shop it was either her husband or son waiting, very nice for them to take any notice of the lady who was having a severe coughing fit. Poor lady.

Little things like that can make a stranger feel cared for.

I donate blood. I’ll be making my third donation on the 25th February. This time it’ll be plasma instead of whole blood.

    Brilliant work!!
The best kind of presents are the ones that give twice 🙂

Still giggling at the goat’s name. Man I’m funny, lol.

My girlfriend’s birthday is coming up, and she literally has everything she could want or need (I’m so happy to hear that, she deserves it allll!) so instead I bought her a goat from Oxfam that will go to a family in a third world country that really needs it.

I (mentally, anyway) named it in her name so when they ‘milk’ the goat they’re milking a goat with her name. It’s cracking me up. Hilarious, well I think so 😉

    He he…. I think that’s really cool!
I think that would be a very memorable birthday present. We have also purchased goats, pigs and medical supplies from Oxfam.

My husband and I lay bye children’s bikes on special through the year, and at the end of the year donate them to my favourite charity Aussie Helpers. I also buy different products from the Avon catalogue when they are on special, it’s amazing the lovely collection of bits and pieces we have to hand over by the end of November. I won a couple of perfumes from Take 5 this year, so they went in as well. This year we reached our 24th bike, was hoping we’d get to 25 but will get there in 2015. Apart from our now grown children, I’ve never told anyone about this before, not sure why I’m writing it down now, maybe because I’m sort of anonymous here, hmmm, not sure.

Hi Dawn875, that’s an amazing act of generosity and how wonderful for the recipients to receive a new bike and some lovely beauty items. That’s just awesome!

Also, welcome to the forums, hope to chat again soon 🙂

I love this, Emma but I’m not the slightest bit surprised about your thoughtfulness and I am sure she’ll see the hilarity too!!!

Working in an Open Source Project, read, this could be interesting to you.

We are working on a project that could mean the revolution of the Job Search. It’s called “Open Source Job Search”. The project is to create a job search engine, but with new things:

    1. Statistics will be presented with the data collected.
    Statistics like this:
    http://opensourcejobsearch.github.io/statistics.html
Those statistics would help people, they could even help you.

    2. The claims made by the companies in the job ad will be verified like this:
    http://opensourcejobsearch.github.io/job2.html

    3. It will be free for everybody.

    4. The entire project is open source, you can use anything in it for other projects, and nobody will benefit financially from it because it is free.
The source code of the project is here:
    https://github.com/opensourcejobsearch/opensourcejobsearch.github.io

If you see something good for use in another project, use it for another project right now.

What do you think about it? Do you think that you would help as a volunteer ?

    It’s definitely worth checking out!
