I have to share a story with you all that is both sad and inspirational. My husband and I have known Kevin and Lesley Landreth for many years and they are remarkable people. Quite some time ago they decided to foster a young lad who the authorities had basically given up on. This young boy was profoundly disabled but with the love and care he was given by Lesley and Kevin, his life became totally different from the almost vegetative state that years of state care had left him in. Then came the shocking news that Lesley has terminal cancer. Lesley has fought the cancer for many months but sadly the cancer is winning the fight and she is not expected to live much longer. Her greatest concern is for her husband Kevin and for their young foster son. In order for Kevin to continue to act as a foster parent he needs a secure home and the hard fact is that he needs money to achieve this. This remarkable couple have been through so much hardship. When Kevin took Lesley to hospital for cancer treatment their home was broken into and possessions stolen, not once but twice. Through all of this their love for each other and for young Ashton has shone through. Lesley’s last wish is to see that her family is safe and secure when she is no longer here. This lovely couple helped us out when we needed it and they have helped many others as well. Now they are the ones who need help and we want to get this message out to as many people as possible.
