mobile phones?

hey I have a shitty old nokia e63 that keeps doing weird stuff so I think its time to get a new phone.
I would like a smart phone/touch screen.
my mum just got a samsung galaxy ace which looks pretty good, kinda iPhone-ish.
she got it for like $259 unlocked which isn’t too bad but I was wondering if anyone on here has one that was cheaper or same price that is good/would recommend?

thanks 😛

Hi, swooping – before you decide on a new phone make sure it will work effectively via your provider in relation to where you live. My husband got an HTC with Vodafone and hated it BUT it turned out that he should NEVER have been given it as it isn’t compatible with coverage where we live. They replaced it with the newest Nokia Lumina 800 and he says it’s the best phone he’s ever had and that includes a 3G iphone. The Lumia is still over $400 I think.

It is a really personal issue – make sure you like the feel of anything you’re considering, as in size, weight etc. and good luck.

I have an iPhone and wouldnt get anything else. I love it, mine’s an older one, a 3G, but I’m hanging on to it for a while longer (will update with the next iPhone released, whenever that happens).

My husband, however, has recently bought a HTC and he really likes it. Not sure what it’s called but it’s the newest one as he’s only had it for a fortnight.

I’ve got a Samsung Galaxy Nexus – my boyfriend bought it for me so I think it was around $300 and something unlocked… Second hand but it has no problems and came with the box and cord and everything. He bought it online somewhere. Great phone so far!

Runs on the latest Andriod operating system so it ties in with Google instead of Apple (much better I think) can do everything an iphone can without the bugs and ties to Apple.

If you want to still use a Nokia, I’ve just gotten a Nokia Lumia 710 and so far it seems really good. The downsides of the phone are that it’s a Windows Phone and lacks some apps and it also lacks a front-facing camera.

I’m a big fan of Nokia because none of their phones (and I’ve owned three so far, excluding the Lumia) have ever broken or screwed up for me. I had the e72 before upgrading and it was soo durable and easy to use.
