Melbourne Fine Dinning Restaurant

Hi beauties,

My hubby and i are having our first wedding anniversary next month. We are planning to have a dinner at a nice, fancy, fine dinning restaurant to celebrate it. Does any of you have ideas where is the nice resto in Melbourne? We are very rarely dine at a fine dinning resto, so we are hoping to make our anniversary dinner very special.

Thanks =)

I wouldn’t say meat and wine co is fine dining, although the food is good.
another place with amazing steak is squires loft on toorak rd (tried docklands and it was horrible) but it’s casual restaurant.
I’d go rockpool at crown for good fine dining steak !

For me Squires and Meat & Co are at the same level. I usually visit the CBD branch of Squires, which is not the right place for romantic dinner 🙂

I eventually went to Rockpool, and the food was amazing. The steak just melted in my mouth, and we had prawn tortellini with burnt butter for entrée (so yummy!) . Pricey, but worth it! 😉

That is my favourite Rockpool dish! Great choice.

Glad to see you had a good night! Rockpool is fantastic-lovely food and great service 🙂

what sort of cuisine and budget you are looking at?

We love Ezard for their degustation menu. Movida for spanish cravings. Gingerboy for Asian-fusion. You’ll need to book in advance for all of them.

I seen the post by “faboosh” and straight away thought of MoVida, how great is it. They have the best stuffed zuccini flowers. amazing.

I went to Melbourne nearly 4 years ago for my 18th birthday celebrations, and we (myself and my then boyfriend) went to the Meat and Wine Co. and it was one of the best places I have been to when dining out! I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a good steak, but it is definitely a good ides to book ahead because it was always very busy when we went there (we went in without a booking and were seated upstairs in a bar/lounge area and had to wait at least 45 minutes for a table to be free) But the wait was worth it 🙂

Ah Soan, You just made my choices even harder LOL thanks anyway :))) Maybe you should create a blog about the restos and write reviews 😉

Ha ha. Can you figure out I really like my food? 😛
Another one that I love to go for lunches in Red Spice Road. Their Pork Belly is to die for.

Ah yes Meat & wine co! 🙂 Thax for the suggestion! i have never been there, so i might try. Have you tried Rockpool, Soan? I was just wondering which one is better between those two?

Ooh.. Yeah.. I do like Rockpool as well. Tough to choose. 🙂
And while we are looking at southbank, Merrywell is not bad either for modern australian fare. And Sake at Arts Centre for Japanese.

I agree with Thepinkshoe. Tutto Bene is really nice. Best risottos in town (And I stay next to Lygon street 😉 )
I doubt if you’ll be able to get Attica booking. They are usually booked out 2-3 months ahead. But give it a try.

And if you want to be experimental, there’s a new kid on the block Prix Fixe. They are opening up in another week or so. We are going there for our upcoming special day 🙂

OMG Soan, so much to choose! LOL. Im planning to check out their website tomorrow, since i have a day off from work tomorrow 🙂
    Thanks again!
