loyalty cards App

The other day I went to Priceline with a friend who bought some moisturiser. When it came to the register she was asked for her priceline loyalty card, but it was in her other purse. Not her smaller one.

When i was at the health food shop yesterday, I mentioned how there are so many loyalty cards in my purse!

The sales assistant asked if i had an iphone, because they could be all put in there and then they can just scan the barcode from your phone!!
Most of us tend to have our phone on us despite which purse we carry.
There are a heap of loyalty cards already listed, so you just choose the selected store then scan your barcode from phone camera.
I even put my blockbuster video library card (yeh showing my age there! DVD library i meant LOL) even though i can’t remember the last time we actually hired something, but still! If i want it, it’s there 🙂

Others that aren’t there, for example there wasn’t one for Qantas frequent flyer points, you just create it, by naming it then scanning barcode 🙂

I thought some of you beauties could get use out of this App too.

Stocard and it’s free.

Not sure if it works on android or if there is an android version.

I showed my team leader today and she was thrilled because yesterday at the chemist she had her purse that doesn’t have that particular card in it, so she missed out on loyalty points, but now she won’t have to cause her phone is pretty much always with her as well 🙂

I tried to use this today in BigW and Woolies (Everyday Rewards card) and it wouldn’t scan.
I didn’t try it in Priceline, is believe it or not, I didn’t actually buy anything there today (shock, horror!).
I guess at least they have your membership number to key in, but it looks like I’ll need to keep the Everyday Rewards card in my wallet.

A lot of scanners can’t read phone screens. At Coles they got extra scanners installed on all the registers – the reason is they’re “2d” scanners that will read any smartphone screen. So since then I’ve popped my loyalty cards in my phone to save space. I still keep my health food shop card cause their scanners can’t read phones and its a big, long number.

I started out using key ring but find stocard is way better.

(the scanners in Coles face towards you on regular checkouts and on self checkouts are on the right hidden under the flybuys display where they keep temporary cards – if you can’t see it just ask because phones won’t scan on the other scanners)

I use stocard on android…. Great app. It has worked well with most card readers at stores. However big w and wollies can’t read my everyday rewards card from it. But still my wallet is heaps lighter now 🙂

I have to get this app! I would get this for my not-so-tech-savvy mum if she wasn’t forever looking for her phone. I swear she spends half her life going through all the cards in her wallet. It drives me nuts when I am with her. She doesn’t keep them in the separate wallet I bought her, they just get dumped in her wallet. Credit cards, loyalty cards, debit cards. Awful.

    Thanks for posting Oonga.

I am old school and have the loyalty cards but yes my ex used the application and said it was fantastic

Excellent! Did your ex say if they had much issues with scanning and if they did were the sales assistants happy to key it in… most of the time? lol

I tried to scan it at Safeway today too and it wouldn’t scan, but i normally go through the self serve.
However I guess if i did forget it I could just go through sales assistant check out and get them to key it in if i didn’t have my card?

I tried the app for the first time today at T2 and they refused to even try scanning it as they said it never works :/
Will try it at Priceline/Woolies next week and see how it goes…

Did they manually key in the numbers?
They must have those old scanners mentioned in the app!

She didn’t want a bar of it lol. She just looked me up by name 🙂

Wow you would think by the time you spell your name and stuff it would be as easy to key it in LOL.
Ah well I guess it would only be an issue for when they don’t want to or can’t look up names, at least you have something there 🙂
