How do you buy your jeans?! RSS

I recently bought a gorgeous pair of really dark denim Calvin Klein skinny jeans, but I’m starting to panic I might need to take them back because they seem really tight on my legs. I know they’re supposed to be fitted, but I’m scared it’s just bad taste to have them too tight!
I’ve done some asking around and a lot of people suggest buying jeans too small to allow for stretch – what’s your experience everyone?

Jeans do stretch somewhat but it depends on the material content as well. I always buy clothing in person and especially with bottoms as I’m 6ft with most of the height coming from the legs. I buy them to fit. To me, too tight is when I can’t remove them standing up. As well as having difficulties zipping them up and feeling uncomfortable when I assume a sitting position. The only thing I would buy in a size down is ugg boots. Even with leather stretching I would never buy a size down as the stretch is not that considerable. I don’t believe jeans would be considerable either.

I like my jeans tight but i choose denim that’s at least 4% elastane which makes them a bit stretchy like tights. NOT jeggings though, actual denim that has a bit of stretch. This way you can actually sit, squat and kneel in them and still breath. I hate when jeans stretch out and become saggy

Also this means to can get them true to your size and dont have to worry about them becoming too loose or tight later on

But keep in mind fluctuations in your weight. Like if you have a bit of a gut that you usually don’t

This of course is only if you want tight jeans, hope it helps

Okay, well I left the tag on them and wore them around the house for a few hours last night, and I’m happy to report – I’m keeping them!!

Haha I think I was just a little uncertain, but they gave a bit even in that short time and were much more comfortable. They definitely sit a lot lower on my waist (almost hipster-style) than the fit I’m used to, but they’re like a glove – just perfect! Thank goodness for half-sizes I say.

They’ll probably feel perfect on after a few wears. Don’t wash them too often!
