Does anybody else get these? I get them even in places I dont shave (ie- top of my thighs/hips) They are little red spots – very unattractive. I find them mainly on my thighs. I think they are similar to tiny ingrown hairs. I exfoliate regularly too. I did read somewhere there is a cream you can use that has lactic acid in that stops the spots – does anybody know what it is called? I think its available from chemists but I cant find it. |

Its not heat rash, I have it ALL the time. I’m hot but not that hot, hehe. I can squeeze them ( I know it sounds gross, sorry) They are almost like tincy wincy pimples/ingrown hairs where the hair follicle is. |

Glitter girl, I have the same problem. I’m sooooo used to the heat, but I can’t understand why it keeps appearing. It occurs during any season. |

I get this too – sooooo annoying. At least you can hide your legs a bit – I get it across my chest which is so hard to hide in summer! Switching my washing powder sounds like something worth trying though… |

i get these. i think they’re just what happens when my skin gets irritated. itchy clothes (even just brushing against someone wearing wool) or grass or anything can set them off. i avoid irritating fabrics and i don’t exfoliate very often because that irritates my skin too. maybe try exfoliating less, you could be stripping the skin of it’s natural oils and irritating it. |

If you are squeezing something out of them try applying witch hazel twice daily to see if that helps. I find it really clears up my ingrowns. You can get witch hazel from most supermarkets in the cosmetics/heath aisle |

Wow I never knew you could use witch hazel for ingrowns?? I’ve used it as a toner before but didn’t know there were other ways you could use it! I’m going to give that one a try… |

Witch hazel has many uses. It is an astringent but also has healing power. I thought I’d try it on my ingrowns for no particular reason and it worked. I’m often trying new things in the middle of the night when something bothers me lol |

I finally found the cream with lactic acid in it, its called Calmurid (by Galderma), its mainly Urea and lactic acid, the lady in the Chemist says the little red spots are a type of eczema – which makes sense as I do suffer mild eczema in the summer months. It’s only $8.30. I’ll let you know if it works. |

I got mine checked a few days ago and I am told it’s a form of eczema. Try a sample bottle of QV lotion from your pharmacist as this is not meant to irritate the skin. My doc also told me to try find any irritant source and eliminate it, keep up the water, and if you can, try expose the spotted area to sunlight. Also do not apply hot or very warm water to the surface eiter as that will dehydrate it and cause flare-ups. |

It’s quite possibly Keratosis Pilaris, which is a build up of keratin in the hair follicle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keratosis_pilaris |
