Hi P, In regards to eating you need to remember that the biggest culprit to gaining weight is when you body has an insulin spike meaning sugar will trigger an insulin spike resulting in your body craving food constantly. In the morning I steer clear of cereal and oatmeal and instead have 1 egg with 2 egg whites, lentils and spinach (got this from a book called 4 hour body). I found that when I started to eat this particular breakfast I didn’t crave food for 4 hours ….hence the name of the book. Another thing to keep in mind is that there are certain fruits and veggies loaded with natural sugar so do some research on what fruits/veggies have low sugar. Try to eat live foods as much as possible and you’ll be on your way to a healthier body. |

I’ve found one of the best ways is to swim. Swimming works your whole body and if I want to look my best, I swim every day and definitely notice a difference in less than 2 weeks. You could probably also pair it with some exercises specific to the areas you want to focus on. The most important thing is to eat well. Drink plenty of water and eat fresh fruits and veges. It’s also important to eat protein to help your body tone up and don’t avoid carbs because they do give you energy for exercise. Hope this helps. |

I have an average body, but I could be more toned. I have 3 weeks off coming up and I want the fastest and healthiest way to acheive an awesome body! Help please? Focus on your nutrition which is 90% of any fitness equation anyway. And that doesn’t mean you starve yourself but eat good, unprocessed food in amounts that satisfy your hunger. P90X is hardcore. It’s not for those just starting out or for those getting back into the fitness regime. What I will say about it as someone who has used it in the past is that it IS an excellent fitness system but only for those who have core fitness already. I would not be recommending this as a quick fix. Another thing about sugar. It isn’t a dirty word nor, like the word alcohol, does it necessarily mean the same thing either. All vegetables are good eating as are fruits, nuts and grains. Obviously you don’t stuff yourself stupid with them. Porridge (rolled oats – often mistaken for oatmeal which is actually an oat flour) is a great breakfast meal that I have every day and it’s a great hunger buster as well as an important source of vital nutrients for your body. If you have three weeks, I’d recommend swimming. In addition to what Rockie has said, it’s an exercise that does not place a lot of stress on your body as, say, running or riding does because you are buoyed by the water. |

I agree with Girlsunday, nutrition is the main thing that would lower your body fat percentage, remember that abs are made in the kitchen. But strength training would be the main thing to keep it off in the long term. |

Tripollar’s POSE can also help with getting rid of cellulite, I did a few session’s and measured my waist after wards to realise that it had gone down by an inch and a half.. |

Walking at a reasonably fast pace every day and increasing the distance every few days will help enormously. This can be done in conjunction with some other activity that you like. Swimming is great as well but you need to be a good swimmer and do interval training to get the results in such a short time. Dancing is another great exercise – Zumba for instance will give you the cardio exercise and tone your body plus it is fun. |

I highly recommend Bikram yoga or hot yoga for great results for toning and strengthening your body, especially your core. If you do 3 or more classes a week you will see results very quickly and there is just nothing as fabulous as the feeling you have after doing one of these classes – simply on top of the world!! |

Eat healthy – lots of fruit and veggies and avoid processed food. Try pilates, cycling, swimming, dancing, skipping, jogging and make sure you stretch a lot! :) |

I reckon doing big 1 hour walks 3-4 times a week and make sure you are going up hill some of the time. It tones muscles well and sheds extra weight which in turn makes you look more toned. Seriously this works! |

Seriously this works! I agree walking is great, recently me and my bf have started walking together 3 times a week and I do a few extra on my own and its made such a difference even though you might not think it would. Increase speed and distance as you progress and add hills etc for a challenge and even jog small sections — interval training is great. Swimming is also great for your overall fitness but might not help a lot with toning up in the short term. And you can add a few exercies like lunges and squats if you want to tone your legs and other specific exerices for other body areas. Also one thing to remember is that it can take 6 weeks for any exercise program to make a real difference. I studied this at uni last year. So don’t give up if you begin and think its not making any difference because it probably is but you just can’t see it yet! |

I’d highly recommend Les Mills’ Body Pump – I find it a great way to tone up quickly. If you’re able to commit to 3x 1hr classes for the next three weeks, I think you’ll be very happy with the outcome! |

You should use this this new body contouring device called POSE. It was advertised on BH a couple of weeks ago. If you are actually after toning then you can’t go past this thing. I have used it and have started to see some really great results. www.stopandpose.com.au |

I too did the same! It was the last of my baby fat and I was finally able to get rid of it with POSE. It’s an excellent device. I was skeptical at first but I have really seen the difference and won’t go back! |

Yubin of wondergirls and G.NA (both korean singers) do jump rope everyday. Yubin says that she did ATLEAST 1000 jumps each day. Personally for me, i got too used to that and it doesnt really satisfy my anymore. G.NA however does at least 2000 a day. I am to get about 2500. |
