Help I have cut my finger and it went straight through my nail as well, and it is way too far down to break off. How can I keep it together until it is long enough to break off? Home remedies please if anyone has any ideas cause I can’t get out and buy a special product for it at this stage!! |

Youchies!! Oh you poor thing Mel! I’m sorry I can’t help much. Whenever I’ve done that I’ve plastered the finger up and kept it like that until the nail grew longer. I’m sure many other beauties have much better remedies than that! Owwww. |

There are a few options, depending on what you have on hand at home. You can paint over the break with nail polish to reinforce it a bit, you can glue it back together with acrylic nail glue if you have some, you can wind a band aid around it. Is the nail very long? If so, trim it off as best you can so there is less to tear off if you catch it on something! Then, use a buffer on in to remove any rough bits. Then either use the glue or the nail polish. Good luck, I know how much it can hurt!! |

My Mum used to get a tissue, and separate it, so that you’ve just got a 1 ply (if that makes sense). Then she’d cut it to size, put it over the tear, and then put a coat or two of nailpolish over the tissue. That’d keep it strong until it got long enough to cut. |

Yeah I hate it when it is beneath the top of the nail, anything down there is really painful, but it would be worse if it catches on something and rips off, ooooouuuuuucccccchhhhhh, lol, I have goose bumps thinking of it. |

yeah, i would keep a bandaid on it so it doesn’t get caught. but when it does grow long enough you should cut it as soon as you can |
