beautystar, you have some great goals and a really feasible plan for your 2nd week, you seem to be doing great keep it up :) I am going great with my drinking water, I only have a cup of tea (no sugar) in the morning then water for the rest of my beverages. I drink milk only if I make a berry shake every few days or once a week and am sticking to skim milk. I like my cheeses so am getting my calcium from that. I do like to have an alcoholic drink every now and then on the weekend and have opted for vodka with diet cola but am wondering if theres a healthier option than that (apart from drinking no alcohol at all which is my next step!) Meal wise i am eating healthier and taking healthy portion sizes, I have even learn’t to acquire the taste for blueberries which I know enjoy as a small treat every other day. Am keem to buy some goji berries next and start incorporating them into my diet again. I am loving my mixed grain bread if I choose to eat bread and have never consumed butter or margarine so thats put me a step ahead! Exercise I am walking again daily and doing my yoga/pilates at home as well as using my swiss ball. Next week I am planning to step it up and mix it up by adding cycling into the mix. Slowly, I am getting there. I still enjoy a square of choccie now and then but as I don’t eat any other snacks like chips, biscuits, cake, or use sugar in my tea I class my choccie squares as a treat. Admittedly, the more I change to a healthier diet, the less I seem to want or crave the chocolate and I have noticed that I look at some foods that are plain bad for me and have no inclination to want them at all. I can see and feel changes with my overall attitiude to a healthy diet which I’m happy about :) |

i would also like to gain a slight amount of weight, I lost 4 kg due to a marriage breakup, and was seriously and painfully thin. I have gained back some weight, and my jeans are fitting better now! I would love to do a booty camp to actually increase my fitness and feel stronger in my body and mind, my breakup seriously did damage to my confidence, so something like boot camp would make me feel more fit, release some endorphins, and make me feel better mind body and spirit |

Life is complicated sometimes, but once u get ur life back on track, you’d be a stronger person than ever :) xx. Good luck everyone for the next weeks to come in ur fitness program. For me, i still eat whatever i want, in a small, limited portions, but no or less fried food, NO KFC, macca;s, hungry jacks or junk food at all, dark chocolate only, I eat heaps of fruits in a day, include lots of incidental activities such as 20 mins walking to work and holding my tummy in when at work for long time. Doing really well, but havent really exercise that much this week |

I am kind of failing… Have been really sick the last few days, and not eating much and coughing has made me lose weight…. I have always been naturally skinny, but more so now, since I was 13. I have literally stretched, grown about 10cms, but not gained any weight. I just can’t seem to gain, and it worries me. A lot. But on the plus side I have been drinking a lot of water and eating a bit better. I am not eating to get FAT, just eating to get healthy. To put it in perspective – I have a BMI of 14.7 which is border line underweight to extremely underweight. I weigh 40.5kg. Because of my weight at the moment – I am unable to have children. I don’t get periods because my body doesn’t have enough spare weight to support a baby to full term if I fall pregnant (which I have no plans for in the near future.). I know a few of you will say that having no periods is a good thing – but for me it is a huge worry. My bones stick out a bit (ribs, wrists, ankles and hips particularly). I am literally skin and bones. I am not healthy, and anything to gain weight in a healthy way would be a blessing. I also want to do a bit more exercise, not to lose weight, but to gain some strength. But my body is tired, and not always willing. I am hoping you guys are having more success! |

I am kind of failing… Have been really sick the last few days, and not eating much and coughing has made me lose weight…. Hey Beautyqueen, Not sure if you have foxtel and seen it but there is this show called super fat vs super skinny. Its really interesting – it takes a morbidly obese person and an extremely underweight person and it makes them swap diets for a week to become more aware of what they are eating then they get given healthy eating plans to either loose or gain weight. Most of the extremely skinny people don’t have eating disorders – they have always been small eaters and so physically can’t fit more food in so have to retrain themselves to eat more, or to change the types of foods they eat so they can gain weight – and not change it to eating maccas all day but making healthy changes such as getting more protein and carbs in. If you like, you could post what you would eat in a normal day and we could give you tips on how to improve on that, whilst still being healthy. For example – if you have an apple for afternoon tea it would be better if you had a banana as a banana has a lot more carbs in it. Or if you drink light milk, you should switch to full fat milk. I know there is the huge low fat push with foods these days but you are in a categorry who needs more good fats in – when feeding our babies solids, we are taught by the early childhood nurses that we have to give them full fat everything (milk, cheese etc) until they are 2 years old as their stomachs are so small, yet they are going through such big growth spurts that they need to eat really calorie dense foods – funnily enough, you are in exactly the same category – you are going through a massive growth spurt yet your stomach hasn’t caught up yet so at this stage you can only fit in enough to fuel your child sized body, even though you are now growing into your adults body (does that make sense?). So you need to gradually increase the amount that you can eat, and in the meantime eat calorie dense healthy foods. Some tips – if you have a glass of milk during the day make sure it is full fat and add 2 HEAPED!! teaspoons of milo – it won’t fill you up further but it is adding extra calories and heaps of nutrients. If you drink tea and coffee add cream to it instead of milk. Again only a tiny change but it would help. Bananas are a great snack as they are packed full of nutrients and high in carbs. Nuts are another great snack – full of protein and good fats. If you can’t fit big meals in, then eat little meals more often, which is hard whilst you are at school but even if you pack mini snacks to quickly much on between periods eg a musli baror 10 nuts or 4 jatz crackers – just little things you can quickly stuff in. Can’t think of anymore tips but maybe if you post what you eat, we might be able to help you improve on it! Good luck!! |

I’ve been cutting out the one glass of red wine me and my hubby have at night (often around 5 nights of the week just to relax together) and it’s working! My tummy (and all over) is not as flabosis! Yay! I think I’ll call it my ‘No exercise diet’!!!! |

I am kind of failing… Have been really sick the last few days, and not eating much and coughing has made me lose weight…. BQ95, thanks for sharing with us your story. Maybe try to get help from dietitians as they’d be able to help you with ur food planning, in order for you to gain weight and in turn, you can have children :). You can still be gaining weight and being healthy by exercising at the same time. To me, my diet means not denying what your body wants. So eat whatever you still want, but just watch the portions, so you dont feel guilty after that. I hope you’re getting more luck with your weight gain. |

Thanks girls :) I just have a very high metabolism (I am an athlete), so I eat whatever I want, whenever… I am known to friends as the bottomless pit because I eat more than some of the biggest boys at the school. But whatever I put in I burn really quickly. For exercise – Food – (yesterday) Also in between I had a 600ml water and a glass of Pepsi Max. And a few squares of milk chocolate with hazelnuts, and some mentos. I haven’t been eating as much as I normally would – as I said – I’m sick and don’t feel like eating as much. I was really sick a few months ago, with extreme exhaustion, Docs pretty sure it was glandular fever. So I lost about 2kgs, and haven’t managed to gain it back, and being sick again, am losing :( I eat what I want, when I want – snacking a lot between periods – a bikkie, or half a sandwich. I also work about 2-3 three hour shifts a week at a Pizza shop – so get plenty of exercise (and junk food) in there. |

I have been on the kickstart diet for three weeks now and lost 5.4kgs and havent even exercised. Im so excited. I actually fit back into a lot of my old clothes now. Well there not exactly old, lots of them are brand new but I just never looked any good in them. I saw my Doctor today and she is pleased with me. She said I only need to lose another 4kgs to get to the weight she wants me to be. To get to my desired weight I have to lose 6 more kilos. Blood pressure is high again and cholestorol is still up so gotta keep going and get rid of this dreaded weight. I know I can do it. |

i started really well, but i would probably give myself a D- this week….. was going great untill saturday (1 day lol) when my Mother in law bought oer a really yum cheese cake for my partners birhday and i couldnt help but eat a few too many slices over the weekend. so monday i started again and went really well until i had a bit of a ‘dissagreement’ with my partner tuesday arvo and went and bought myself a tub of ice cream a block of chocolate drinking chocolate and marshmallows…i think im a bit of an emotional eater! But i have still been exercising every morning and i went on 1 walk this week and a run . At one point i was down to 66, fluctuating about 67 now. For the following week i am now armed with unlimited fresh fruit and veggies and my mother in law gave me some of those protein/meal replacement shakes so i plan on having one or two of them as a ‘snack’ during the day. I have also told my partner id make him lunch every morning before he goes to work and this gives me an hour to exercise have breakfast etc before the kids wake up, so it saves money for us too (rather then buying his lunch) so this week i hope to be a bit more mentally strong! I hope everyone else is going well :) |

I quit smoking a little over 12 months ago and I managed to put on between 10-11kgs. I managed to lose a couple of kgs over the last couple of months but in the last two weeks I’ve been really mindful of what I’m eating and have cut out alcohol (for the moment!). I’m at my half way point now but still have about 5.5 kgs to go (currently 67.5). I have been doing the following: 20-30 min walk over lunch Menu sample: I’ve really been trying to manage my portion size so I’ve reduced the size of my dinner plate. I’m eating much less but still feeling full! In the next couple of weeks I’ll reintroduce alcohol/restaurant food but in limited amounts and will try to compensate for it during the week. I’m hoping to have reached (or be very close to) my goal by mid December. |

As i am going to Gold Coast next week, so far that has been my motivation to lose weight, or at least tone up my body. So far i find it really really hard to lose weight to my desired, which is 50 kg. I am generally already happy with 53 kgs, but i guess the thought that it is still too close to the weight that i was (58kgs) that scared me and motivates me to lose another 3 kgs (Even though every1 has been telling me that i’d be too skinny by then). I guess i would like to change my goals and make it abit more realistic with the rate that i am currently going. (For week 3) Hiccups that i’ve faced so far: |

I have joined my dad to this…. He has a bit of a cake top (not just muffin top). So my mission is to get him to try to eat a bit better (which is hard – he is a pilot and has one choice on the plane). Exercise more and just be healthier. He isn’t extremely overweight, just about 5kgs above where he needs to be! I don’t want to lose dad in a few years from a heart attack or something horrible like that because he is carrying extra weight. Goals – |

Since i started i have lost 2.5kg so i am thrilled, i only have 2.5kg more until i reach my goal weight and then i still have to work on toning more. I have been drinking more water and eating healthier but i haven’t been as consistant with the exercise. |

Since the my last post, I’ve lost another 2 kgs,so from 53 to 51 now. I am very happy as I’ve said I’m trying to do things slowly a kg by a kg. I’ve been working out so much more, stretching whenever I can, snack lesser on junk and pile myself more on fruits and veges. I’ll try to have veges everyday, fruits are a must and as well as yoghurt. I still have carbs, but not too much, which probably explain my flatter tummy and smaller thighs measurement. My body has also tone up a lot more thanks to yoga and aerobic. I am very happy at the rate that I am going. I have also find out that I eat lesser now, which means lesser calories intake. I am heading to gold coast this wed, but am still planning to stick to my diet even there, and will put in incidental activities such as volleyball game,or just good beach soccer game with my man :). 1 more kg to go and I’d be happy to maintain my weight and further toning my body |

Well I have been going really great but its my birthday on Wednesday and I think I need a little break to celebrate. So far I have lost 5.4 kilos in only three weeks so thats something to celebrate. My weight loss has slowed down and I really think I need a bit of a break to kick start my metabolism again and maybe this week might be that break. I know as soon as my birthday is over I have to quickly get back into the weightloss ritual. I have only got about 6 kgs to go and thats so close. |
