I just wanted to share this with anyone suffering stretchmarks. I am covered in stretchmarks, I have them on my breasts, stomach, butt, hips, and legs. The ones on my hips were very pink and I could feel them either protruding out, or indented into my skin when i ran my hands along my hips up until this week (they werent flat). Despite having so many stretchmarks I never really took care of them early on, I just thought I couldnt ever help myself so why try (so stupid!!). A fortnight ago I decided I just had to start taking care of my skin because it was uneven, dry, flakey and gross. So I started using the Lush Buffy exfoliating scrub:

http://www.lush.com.au/shop/product/product&product_id=645

and the Vaseline Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning Body Lotion:

http://www.vaseline.com.au/Product.aspx?Path=Consumer/OurProducts/CocoaButter

I noticed tonight that my stretchmarks have faded considerably in this short period of time, are flatter, and whiter. I am amazed at my results with such cheap simple products. I will continue to do this religiously. I really believe my success comes from the Lush Buffy exfoliant. It is my new holy grail product! For those of you who have never heard of it, it is a bar made out of shea and cocoa butter that looks similar to soap and is also made up of crushed almonds to exfolite the skin. You jump in the shower, get wet, let the bar get a bit wet in your hands, rub the bar over your body to deposit it onto the skin, and then massage the product into the skin like you would do with any scrub, you then rinse off the exfoliating granules, but are left with moisturised skin from the shea and cocoa butter (this is not meant to be rinsed of rubbed off with a towel). Its sort of like taking a bath in oil. When you get out you don’t even need to bother moisturising. Anyways il stop raving, im just excited :)

That’s great news Sarahly. I also have quite a lot of stretchmarks on my legs all the way up to my thighs and bum :(

I’m currently using the yellow Vaseline body lotion and was saving the Vaseline Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning Body Lotion for the winter months, but now I’m thinking I should use it now.

Do you think this will work for my daughter after having her legs waxed about 2 months ago she appears to have like thiese tiny red skin tears or stretch marks from behind her kness up her thighs, it hasn’t settled down or softened in colour.

Blister, I think you can get your daughter to give it a go. Vaseline is super affordable and you can get the family value size (1.5kg) in places like Big W for only around $16. I will warn you that this lotion is quite greasy/sticky but very moisterising which is what I think these stretch marks need. Cocoa butter is supposed to be really good.

Also there are a few threads/articles on this topic which you might find helpful.

Thanks for sharing this one Sarahly, I just looked at the reviews on Lush site and they are all 100% what you have said. I am going out to my local lush store and purchasing some of this miracle soap.

Let me know how the rest of you go, and if you see any results like me. I was so hesitant to buy the vaseline moisturiser. My mum used to slather me in it as a kid, and I used to hate the smell. I was tossing up between the Palmers cocoa butter and the vaseline one, but ended up getting the 1.5 Litre vaseline one because it was on special for $14. It is pretty greasy, but thats what my skin needs. I also suffer from Keratosis pilaris (a dry skin condition) on my arms and both products have also improved that.

Oh these are such good ideas, but does anybody know if it would be as effective on already white stretch marks? You mentioned that yours were pink. I’ve had stretch marks on my lower back since I was about 12 and they make me so self conscious to the point I cant wear bikini’s so I’m hoping that with your new holy grail product they may possibly fade :)

I’ve got fantastic results from the skin doctors ‘Stretch Away’ cream. It is a little exxy and to get best results it is a morning and night routine, but I know only have a very faint, silvery mark where once nasty pinky purple stretch marks once were. Be prepared to put the time in though! I was morning and night for about 2-3 months!

The Lush product sounds doubly good – good for stretch marks, and yiu save time by not having to moisturise. That’s my kind of product!!
