Don’t be ashamed, you are not alone. While you would never want to admit it, from time to time we all suffer from dreaded smelly feet. The culprit could be your bargain emergency flats, sweaty gym workouts, or even your diet and water intake. But don’t fear there are ways to keep your smelly feet at bay, no matter what!

First point of order – make sure your feet are scrubbed clean daily, including your toenails. Like your mouth, bacteria hiding under toenails and between toes can not only cause infections but also contribute to unpleasant odours. If you suffer from sweaty feet use a specifically designed anti-perspirant, like Plunkett's Deo Foot Fresh, to stay dry and fresh.

Sometimes those bargain shoes are cheap for a reason! Shoes made from synthetics don’t let your feet breathe too well, trapping sweat and encouraging smelly feet. Allow shoes to dry completely before re-wearing, especially your runners and make sure you always wear socks (they help to prevent blisters and absorb moisture). A great way to keep shoes smelling sweet is to sprinkle a few drops of tea tree oil into them before and after wearing. Tea tree not only smells great, but it also helps to control bacterial growth. Try: GOANNA Tea Tree Oil.

If all else fails, or you can’t avoid the stink, inner soles with charcoal absorb the smell before your nose does. Change the inner sole regularly so that it is as active as possible.

And remember, everything you put into your body has to come out somewhere! The more toxins, preservatives and fats you put in, the smellier your sweat will be. Keep your body’s purification system clear by drinking plenty of water, so you can flush those toxins out.
