I’m with the band

It appears the world is against me – everywhere I turn there’s a hair band. I suppose the only saving grace is that Katherine Heigl’s (that she sported at the 2009 People’s Choice Awards earlier this week) was less icky than Anne’s.
Now Anne’s ‘do got mixed feedback yesterday – so I'm keen to hear your thoughts on Katherine’s (in case you hadn't noticed, currently I seem to be going through some kind of celeb hair fetish phase). And based on the theory that if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em I thought I’d toy with the idea (just toy, mind) of how to get band barnet ready.
Katherine va va vooms up the volume so a spritz of John Frieda Luxurious Volume Lavish Lift Root Booster is essential – the alcohol-free formula leaves no residue, stiffness or stickiness. Alternatively you can apply L’Oreal Professionnel Tecni.art Air Fix Spray lightly to hair after blow-drying or go the old-fashioned route (my fave) with retro Lady Jayne Rollers - Self Hold.
Then you’ll of course need bobby pins (remember to follow Brad’s lead and cross them over at one backcombed point – that’s where a Lady Jayne Comb – Pocket will come in handy) and take your pick from Elite Fashion Head Bands and Sportsgirl Coloured Twist Headband in Colbalt.
So now I just need the muso husband (if you know of any suitors) and I’m ready to rock and roll Alice band-stylee.*

*Please note that I’m still not entirely convinced by the whole hairband thing so this is my get out clause for not having to sport one. I would love to know if you are planning to though…
If time and money were no option what beauty / hair trend would you love to try?

Now this is a style of headband I like. Katherine Heigl looks beautiful in this photo. As for hair trends you can forget Paris Hilton's new BFF, Britany Flickinger with thew comb hanging out of the side of her head, lol. I have long straight hair but one trend I would like to take on board would be to go for the chop and support a new scruffy looking Bob.

Firstly I like hairbands, but not on me - they don't stay in my hair (fine and thin).
Now I'd go a Gwen Stefani look if I could be bothered - but with all the coifing her hair must go through...ick. Alas, my hair generally looks like a model it off Courtney Love.....

I do love Katherine's look. The thinner the head band the better. I'm not one to wear a head band that often as it accentuates any re-growth I might have with my highlights but I can pull off this look. Katherine's look is lovely for a special occassion and is a great take on the tiara. If time weren't an option I'd probably play around with my hair and try some Lauren Conrad style braids. If money weren't an option I'd probably visit the salon weekly for a treatment and style.

I'm with you girls all the way!! I have long poker straight hair and I sometimes do this hairdo for a work function. It works really well as it's flirty yet still and up-do!
Miss Krispy, there's a new kind of hairband out called Scrunchi (at Priceline) that guarantee to stay in! True!!! Check them out! I've got a black one from them.
A trend I would love to try is like Melmeko...maybe the chop a la Gwenyth Paltrow! My hair is very similar to hers so it might work!
A trend I hate is Paris' new BFF...her hair is just blah!!

Katherine's head band looks great. I have several of these"double" ones and these are the ones for you MissKrispy, as I also have fine and thin hair! The Schuncii ones from Priceline are great as they do stay put. I love headbands for a quick fix in the morning or when I am growing out a short cut, which I am doing right now.

i dont mind the head band on katherine. i dont think its fantastic but its not bad. i sometimes wear a head band, but not often. but i do agree that the skinnier the better!
if time and money were no option i would buy a ghd curler and curl my hair every day!

It's got to be extensions... For volume and luxourisous hair... Or maybe go a rich chocolate brown instead of my straw mousy brown. unfortunately I'm waayyyy too much of a chicken!
p.s. i love katherines look, it's retro without being looking like a matron.

Im loving katherines do, it's very classy with a modern touch. She's one of my fave celebs , so she cant do much wrong with me! If time and money wasn't there i would so love to do an old style sixties beehive! I am going to a sixties party soon, so i will get to fulfil my wish:)

Katherine Heighl's always looks so classy, she always gets it right with her clothes & make up. I've been a headband wearer in the past (about 2yrs ago), but I'm so over them. The only time I wear them is when exercising. Usually wear my hair tied back, but If I was going to wear it down I'd probably go back to the band.

I don't mind head bands and now often wear them myself to keep hair off my face in the hot summer months. I not sure what hair style I would try..I'd love to have a professional do my hair (they could do whatever they want..well almost)

I've always wondered what I'd look like as a blonde so if time and money were no object I'd go platinum with long extensions! I love headbands but they never seem to suit me.

I'm loving this look! Katherine always looks amazing so it's hard for her to go wrong - but I genuinely think this is a far more flattering and wearable version of this trend. Might even try it for myself! ;)

Katherine can "do" no wrong, any style that she sports always makes her look fab!...tho for me, I'll leave the alice bands for night time wear...that is for when I need to pin back my hair to do the cleansing ritual.
I need a magic wand to try what I want...and that is to have a different syle and colour for everyday of the week...in reality it just would not work, so I'm quite satisfied with what I have...tho if money were no object, having a stylist everyday at hand would not go astray...

Katherine Heigl always looks so beautiful - no matter what she is wearing or how she's styled her hair! I really like how she has her hair above :) I love headbands in Summer but don't have that headband she is wearing, must get a similar one!

I would love to get fat, fluffy hair. The ones which only look possible on catwalks, the ones that never seem to droop. It's those gravity-defying styles which really gets heads turning ;)

i like katherine's do- i do that for school when i can't leave my hair down because it looks too lank. if i had th time and money, i'd defs have volume in my hair ALL the time- it's always flat and blah. and i'd put highlights in my hair. if you can put highlights in black hair!

I am a real fan of Katherine's, she is gorgeous!
I quite like headbands too!
For me I have a fringe, and having a head band in gives me a whole new look!
