How-to: eat your Hart out

Don’t you wish you could sit down with a glass of sparkling in hand while an entire entourage of hair and make-up artists tended to your every tendril, every stray hair, every unflushed cheek? Well, unfortunately we can’t all live the life of supermodel, Jess Hart. I nicked this photo of her getting ready for a show from her personal Twitter page (I’m sure she won’t mind), and I think she looks calm, content and absolutely stunning.
The first feature that caught my eye was her bouncy, ringlety locks. (Probably because her mouth is closed – I do love that gap!) Here’s how you can get the same luscious locks at home:
- Begin by washing your hair with a volumising shampoo and conditioner so that your curls stay fuller for longer. Try: Sebastian Professional Volupt Shampoo and Conditioner.
- Next, calm your hair follicles with a smoothing serum. This makes it easier to manoeuvre your strands, so that they curl more effectively. Try: Pureology Super Smooth Smoothing Cream.
- Section your hair into four parts on each side of your head, starting at the nape of your neck and working up to the crown. Take a section in each part and wrap it around a curling tong for five or six seconds. We love: VS Sassoon Curl Magic VSP2285A as it’s a cinch to use.
- To finish, spritz with a strong hold hairspray that will keep hair in place without the ‘crunchy’ feel. Try: Pantene Pro-V Always Smooth Stay Smooth Hairspray Flexible Hold.

What kind of mood do you set when you’re getting ready for a big night out?

I like to get the music pumping while getting ready, different music for different occasions!
Helps inspire my look for the night.

It would be lovely to be waited on just like Jess can, but I definiely don't have that luxury and never have - two kids, a husband - hurry, hurry at all times! The only mood I set when getting ready is one of frustration but I manage to pull together. Even when I was married I couldn't sip champagne and have fun - I was actually doing all the make-up and hair! In the end I was just plain moody!

I used to have a few drinks at home while getting ready to go out..these days content to just go out to dinner or the movies. It would be nice to be waited on hand and foot for a day to see what its' like :)

Since having kids I don't go out, haha. Before the mum days, I would have the drink in my hand as soon as I knocked off work, and it would stay there until I rolled back in early hours of the morning, haha, loved my partying days :)

Love the tips here Liv. Dont the supermodels have the life? Pampering, make up, hair, champagne, money!!
Im also a lover of pumping the music to getting in the mood for a night out. Last Friday was the first time in ages I had a night out with the girls from work. Went to our local RSL, had dinner and hit the dance floor. What a great night!

I try to relax and have a bit of fun. A glass of wine to sip while finishing my hair and makeup, some music always helps put me in the going out mood. Her curls in this ioccie are beautiful but her lip shape, and colour as well as those big blue eyes are stunning!

I never drink while I am getting ready, I am a one glass horror and honestly I would end up going out looking like a drag queen lol. I usually pump the music too, and just try to relax into a cruisey, happy mood.

I make sure I leave extra time so as I am not rushing. I normally have my first drink when I am starting to get ready. (oh to have Jess's entourage) I listen to music and make sure my lighting is right and then I just go for it.

I tend to crank up some good singalong pop and drink coffee while getting ready for a night out. The caffeine helps me energise for the night, and it also helps me focus on the fine details of my makeup. Music always make me feel good.
