Inspiring tips and bridal-esque ‘dos as worn by our favourite celebs
Getting married? Feeling a little overwhelmed when it comes to choosing your bridal ‘do? Well, stop stressing and just keep on reading, because we’ve rounded up a rather large group of celebrity wedding-esque hairstyles, which will no doubt be a feast for your bride-to-be eyes. Awesome, huh?
But before you start clicking through our oh-so-inspiring gallery, we’ve snagged some awesome hair tips and tricks from Savvy Brides’ Mandy Daddia, so that when it comes to bridal hairstyle and accessories trends, you’re totally in the know…
SAVVY BRIDES’ HAIR NOTE #1: severe updos are no longer popular as brides look to softer, more natural looking hair. Opting for loose, flowing curls or a low side bun is a lovely idea.
SAVVY BRIDES’ HAIR NOTE #2: brides love the instant understated glamour that hair accessories give. Hair flowers – whether silk or real – are very trendy for beach wedding brides right now, and ornate, jewelled and intricate hairpieces are also a must-have accessory. For the individual bride, a milliner can use the gown as inspiration to create an amazing bespoke headpiece.
SAVVY BRIDES’ HAIR NOTE #3: a veil is not just a simple veil anymore. More brides are opting for pretty headpieces with silk floral designs, tulle or crystals, or birdcage veils with sweet ‘50s-style waisted gowns. Soft silk tulle veils are also popular because they’re light and sheer and photograph beautifully. Striking mantilla or lace edged veils have also spiked in popularity.
SAVVY BRIDES’ HAIR NOTE #4: many brides are mixing up their headwear. Lots of women are now choosing to wear a traditional veil for the ceremony, and then opting for a sparkling jewelled headpiece once photographs have been taken.
SAVVY BRIDES’ HAIR NOTE #5: it is very important that the veil matches the dress. There are so many variants of ivory that simply having an ivory veil and an ivory dress does not necessarily mean they will match perfectly.
SAVVY BRIDES’ HAIR NOTE #6: completing a hair trial prior to the big day is a very smart idea. The bride should bring the exact accessories she plans to wear to the styling session so she can see how they look and feel in the hair.
Brilliant tricks and trend tips, huh? Thank you, Savvy Brides’ Mandy Daddia!
And now it’s time for some bridal hair inspiration, courtesy of our favourite celebrities…

It depends on whether your wedding is a formal or casual affair, or somewhere in between. I do love the femininity of the side-swept strands, and adding an accessory to the pulled back side would be a pretty touch. My hair was short on my wedding day, but I added some tiny pearl sprays either side of my temples to glam it up...

I would probably go for the brushed out bouncy curls (but done in an old hollywood style) of course it would completely depend on the dress and veil so I'm saving this article just to be safe and have a reference point :)

Whitnney Port would be my pick.
Talking about Veils I saw my Michael's Clarke new bride (cricketer) with her veils and she looked absolutely stunning.

I think it is an excellent idea to have a trial run of how you are going to wear your hair on your wedding day. This way you can experiment with different styles.
As a bridesmaid I wore my hair in an up-do braid, professionally done and it looked sensational if I do say so myself. I loved a lot of these hairstyles.

I like them all for daily wear but probably the side swept do's for a formal hair style.

I've never been a fan of having all the hair up so I'll opt for the loose soft curls.
