Normally if I’m looking for hair and beauty inspiration I look to my main three make-up muses: Leighton Meester, Dianna Agron and Camilla Belle.  All three beauties come up with the goods in the hair and beauty stakes time after time, so they’ve fast become my go-to girls when I’m on the hunt for a new look.

However, one celebrity has been on my radar for quite some time now – Nina Dobrev. She’s continued to floor me at a few red carpet events recently, so after she hit the red carpet at the launch of the Like Her, Like Me Seventeen campaign in New York last week (complete with a stunning fuchsia frock and the most decadent-looking chocolate curls I’ve ever seen) I figured it was high time she was commended for her style choices.

Check out this latest pic of Nina. It’s all there.

The hint of lilac shadow? Check.

The fabulous flutter? Check.

The creamiest chocolate locks you ever did see? Check, check, check.

Yep, Nina’s hair definitely had my jaw hitting floor, so I decided I just had to try to recreate this look for myself. Check out this simple step-by-step:

  • - Is your hair not as deliciously decadent-looking as Nina’s? Why not try a DIY dye at home? It’s easy with the John Frieda Precision Foam Colours. To channel Nina’s chocolate hue, try Brilliant Brunette Deep Brown Black 3N.
  • - Start with damp hair, and apply a really nourishing hair treatment that promotes healthy hair and shine. We love VO5® Frizz Relief Elixir™ 1 Minute Smooth & Shine Treatment because it’s especially great for the time-poor girls out there.
  • - Blow-dry hair while brushing with a paddle brush to help achieve a sleek result. When your hair is dry, use a curling tong with a wide barrel to create waves from around eye-level down. We love the Jilbère de Paris Euro 2500 25mm Ceramic Curler for its five variable temperature settings.
  • - To finish, load up your curled locks with a generous spritz of a nourishing shine spray that won’t weigh down your hair. We love Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray for its added argan oil and UV protection.
