Are you race day ready?

Racing season is the perfect time to pull out that dress you’ve been dying to wear, try some new fancy make-up tricks – and honestly, when else can you get away with wearing a fascinator?

But while dressing up on the day is certainly half the fun of going to the races, there are a few things worth doing in the lead up, for less stress and a flawless finish on the day. Watch the video above to see our best tips, or take a look at the beauty checklist below.

2 WEEKS BEFORE – Find your dress

Choosing your dress at the last minute often ends in frustration and tears. Check for any dress codes and get your outfit sorted early, so you can coordinate accessories and make-up from there.

1 WEEK BEFORE – Wear in your shoes

Don’t make the mistake of buying new shoes and then not wearing them until race day! Walk around in them as much as possible in the week leading up to avoid blisters and foot pain.

3 DAYS BEFORE –  Whiten your teeth

For a dazzling smile come race day, switch your regular toothpaste for Colgate Optic White Express White Toothpaste. Its unique enamel safe formula is great for daily use and contains twice the whitening ingredient, hydrogen peroxide, than regular Colgate Optic White, to give you whiter, brighter teeth in just 3 days.*

2 DAYS BEFORE – Practise your hairstyle

If you’re going to wear a fascinator, hat or any type of hair accessory, practice your hairstyle to make sure you can master it easily on the day. And don’t forget to take extra bobby pins with you!

1 DAY BEFORE – Nail your mani

Don’t leave your mani ‘til the last minute. Getting dressed with wet nails is a recipe for disaster, so paint them the day before for a professional-looking finish.

*For best results, use for four weeks.
