Disliked the smell

I was excited to try this product. Initially I was surprised at the orange colour, but it was the smell that really took me back. It smelt like a cheap cooking oil. This was reduced somewhat by using the Intensive Moisture Antioxidant Crème afterwards. But I found as the evening went on I was constantly aware of the smell. Besides that I do commend how easily it was applied, and the fact that it did absorb into the skin better than what I thought it would. Although it was greasy, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and my skin did seem softer after use. Not a product I will be buying again.

Tips

Use a strong smelling moisturiser afterwards to help mask the smell!

Fast absorption

I received a sample sachet for this product. The oil is dark orange in colour. I 'pinched' it between fingers and it felt like gel. It smells like herb instead of rose, to my surprise because I have never use rosehip oil before.
I used 3-4 drops to cover my face and neck every evening, followed by moisturiser. With gentle massage it absorbed into the skin pretty quickly. The scent did not linger, which is great.
I did not notice any changes to my skin, maybe I did not use long enough to see any effect.
Overall I am happy with my first time experience with rosehip oil.

Easily absorbed!

I recently got to try a sample of this one and I like it because it was quite easily absorbed into the skin. It also didn't smell gross as some of the other ones do. You just need to use a tiny amount so it is definitely gonna last for a long time!

Tips

It is quite a multi purpose oil...use it for moisturizing and also to delay your ageing process or a quick fix !

Great multipurpose oil

I have used this Rosehip oil for many different purposes, such as a serum before moisturising, on strechmarks and scars and on dry skin areas. It absorbs very readily into the skin and the skin is not at all greasy once absorbed. It is a very nourishing oil and a little goes a long way.

Hydrating

I got a sample sachet of this and I don't think it was a good idea having an oil in a sachet. I basically had to use it all at once otherwise it would have made a mess as it was dripping everywhere. You certainly notice when you spill it due to the bright orange colour. The oil itself is oily and I do not really like the smell. However the oil absorbs well into my skin and is not oily was it is massaged in.

It is a great way to hydrate my skin and it leaves my skin feeling very hydrated. It is a bit too hydrating for my skin for summer but it is fine in winter. The oil is non-irritating to my sensitive skin. Overall I like this oil as it makes my skin feel soft and hydrated.

Must Have Product

I think I have tried every brand of Rosehip Oil available but this one is definitely one of the better ones. It absorbs easily into the skin and for me has been really effective at fading scarring balancing my skin pigmentation.
It really is a great product.

Goes a long way

Like others, I found this to be better used at night as I found it to be a bit too heavy for daytime use. I did not use a moisturiser as well as I found this became a bit too "gluggy" for me - probably just my skin and the W.A. heat.

Tips

Use at night if it feels too heavy for day use.

Ideal for

Dry skin and probably the mature skin would benefit as well.

Very soothing and moisturising

I've been a user of rosehip oil for a year so I'm quite familiar with it. I use sukin's one or kosmea. This nourished and hydrated my skin all day long but then again that's with all rosehip oils, I don't see this any different than the ones a use which is the sukin rosehip oil and the kosmea.

Ideal for

Dry, sensitive, acne prone skin, combo

great for very dry skin

I have used a few rose hip oils and to be honest all the ones I have used have been much of a muchness,
I had a sample of this which lasted me ages, as you only need to use a small amount.

Each night I have been dabbing/patting a few drops onto my face (& especially around my eyes - but not too close to your eyes)

I find rose hip oil to be much more moisturising than a moisturiser

Tips

I use it at night only as I wouldn't want a greaseball face during the day

Ideal for

dry skin

Great oil product for the face

I was really surprised by the deep orange colour of this Akin Rosehip oil which looked like yellow food dye and I could see the pigment upon my skin when I smoothed this oil across my skin. But the colour faded within seconds. No other rosehip oil that I have used has this strong colour and I would be frightened to get it on white in case it stains if not washed off right away.

The product has a lovely scent which I compare to rosehip tea which I have not smelt in this intensity with rosehip oils I have used in the past.

The oil spreads easily and is quickly absorbed by the skin and straight away you feel the hydration from this product. I usually use Rose-hip oil at night before moisturising and in the morning my skin feels softer than if I only used moisturiser. With prolonged use I have noticed a difference in the appearance of my skin blemishes heal faster since they are kept hydrated and overall my skin feels softer all day, not just after moisturising and this follows through with foundation, since there are no longer any dry patches my foundation looks smoother all day since it does not have dry skin to grab onto.
This has been a great addition to the bathroom and I will certainly be purchasing rose-hip oil again, though I don’t see too much of a difference between different brands of rose-hip oil for the overall long term feeling though the smell of this one is more pleasant than the others, as I mentioned before it reminds me of rosehip tea.

Tips

Use one nightly before using cream

Ideal for

Anyone who needs hydration, does not make skin oily
