So last night was a rather surprising kick-off to the new season. Instead of doing the usual (and pretty boring) run through of the entire state-by-state audition process, we were whisked straight to Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, where the contestants were thrown seven-inch-heel-first down the catwalk.
Within minutes there were tears (Valeria cried her way through most of the episode in fact, so I’m pretty relieved she was eliminated – don’t think I could’ve handled that week after week), but on the whole the girls seemed professional, sweet and of course, absolutely gorgeous (is it wrong to say that they seem much prettier than season’s gone by?).
Anyway, after a catwalk show and a photo shoot, five girls were eliminated. So I guess the ‘real deal’ really starts now.
So far, I’m loving the look of Kelsey, Kathryn, Chantal and Amanda. Sophie’s gorgeous too, but come on, the girl could pass for 28, not the 19 years that she really is (bit too much time in the sun I’m thinking…).
Looking forward to the inaugural ‘make-over’ episode, which is no doubt soon to come. My bet is that Gold Coast’s Kimberley will be the first to have her bleach blonde locks chopped and changed.
