The one feature I would be most obsessed with would be my brows and I am forever plucking them, shaping them and filling them in with a brow pencil. I haven't tried a brow gel before and must give this a try.

I sooooo need to see one of the Eye Brow Queens - I seem to get just the right shape, then I don't have time to maintain them, then desperately need to tidy the 'forest' only to stuff it up because I'm in a rush! I do love the Mirenesse eyebrow gel though.... ;)

I also over plucked my brows as a teenager (when the pencil thin was in) They have never grown back as thick. I'm lucky they aren't patchy though. I just pluck the strays (with my fabulous La-Tweeze tweezers) and I don't need to worry about pencils or powders. I only use my powder if I'm going out and want to enhance my arch. The gel pens sound very interesting though.

Wow, I really need an appointment with a professional like Sharon Lee. Hairdressers never seem to shape my eyebrows in the right way to suit my face. But now after reading this hopefully i can steer them in the right direction and maybe try plucking for myself!
Thanks!

i cant shape my own eye brows, when ever i try to pluck it ends up looking terrible, i think it is one of those things that you should be taught as a teenager but i never was. i have blonde eyebrows and luckily they never look like a mono brow but i usually have them waxed by a professional ever 4 - 6 weeks. lazy easy way out i know.

I to missed out on the eye brow plucking lessons in my youth, so mine look loke a small chiild drew them on with a blunt hb pencil. I am considering having them tatto'd on, I am told this technique has come far in the last few years, and look much more natural than the old days, where ladies would look in a constant state of suprise.

i always overpluck. in high school for about a year i had an incident where i accidentally lost half an eyebrow. i had to colour it in and make it look real. it was dredful! now im more careful; i keep them thin- it suits my face more, but i dont over do it. i keep the natural shape there!

Yes. I too have gaps from overplucking. One eyebrow is also shorter than the other. I tend to draw in the missing bits with an eyebrow pencil, but find that it can tend to look obvious. I can't wait to try an eyebrow gel and check out the results.

I always get my eyebrows waxed professionally - and just pluck the odd stray in between salon visits. I wish they would grow a bit further though, the outer edges are so sparse, despite never overplucking/waxing. I was advised to get cosmetic tattooing, but I worry it would look too harsh.

I agree with getting a professional to wax the eyebrows to ensure the shape is maintained. A word of warning though .... there aren't many professionals out there! From personal experience, I'm stepping up to say that (here in Australia), only Ella Bache salons train their staff in correct eyebrow maintenance and they use good quality wax. When I tried other salons it took me months to get the shape back to something respectible. Believe me, it's worth spending the 20 bucks or so with an Ella Bache salon.

Thanks for the tip about Ella Bache midnite. The last place I went to get my eyebrows waxed did a pretty lousy job and I've been growing them out for the last two months - no plucking or anything - just so I'd have a full set of brows to get properly shaped. Now I'm too scared to let "just anybody" touch them. If anyone has any other recommendations for good eyebrow shaping places in the Sydney CBD please let me know! I'm looking for somewhere that actually shapes the eyebrows to what suits me rather than just waxing like most places do.

I professional brow shapping is one of the best things you can do yourself, When I was first starting to use and learn about makeup my mum took me to have a professional brow shapping. It was great. They gave me a shape that suited my face (not a fashion fad) and showed me how to maitain it. Now I only have to go back every 6 months to have them redone because I know how to maintain it at home. This brow get sound like it would be a great addition to.

Instead of waxing or plucking ... try threading it clearly shapes your eyebrows to its natural shape and even if the shape is screwed up it grows back soon and you'll never end up with hairless patches like waxing or plucking

i naturally have very very little eyebrows so i wax most of the lil blond fluffy ones around the brows but leave the ones close to my brows den tint them. Its a natural look and last about 4-6weeks. And it gives me a bit of a thicker look

I just tidy the brows with a disposable small brow shaver, less painful and easier to manage. Plucking might stopped the hair growth while shaving doesn't.

I check my brows daily for any little sprouting hairs just after I wash my face with a hot towel. I usually only have to remove one or two and they slide out pretty effortlessly. Maintaining makes the job seem easier and the line much easier to keep straight.

In the past I went to salons to get my brows done, and I've always been dissatisfied with the results. Despite asking for a natural curve, I always ended up with drag queen arches of fury. Fed up, I've recently decided to have a go and try to come up with the brows I've always wanted. Here goes nothing ;)

I am so lucky I didn't over pluck my eye brows probably seeing my grandmother with her drawn in eye brows is what did it, oh the trauma. I was born with the one brow curse though and pluck around the nose area or strays but I still have noticed my eye brows thinning and thought about doing the whole eye brow thing but the price of the gel is a bit expensive. Plus I think the gel wouldn't apply to me if I already have eyebrows? Yes adelyn kiki you can have tatooed eye brows and tattooed make-up too but your right tattoos are for life.

Try the brow mascara- i bought it overseas from the brand Fasio- it's fantactic. I'm asian and my hair is coloured dark golden brown. the brow mascaras come in a range of 3-4 colours, waterproof and matches very nicely with my hair colour. saw some very natural looking colours as well. They're not as wet at the gel and you get a more natural finish (not a plastered look). I seriously SWEAR by it! google it!

I have brows that are fairly normal at the inside third or so and virtually non-existent the rest of the way out. I'm a redhead and I found that I simply couldn't find a good coloured brow pencil. What I've done for a few years now is draw the brow in with a pale golden-orange pencil, then dot a brown eyeshadow over it to create texture. The combination of the colours matches my natural brow colour and my hair colour quite well, and the texture looks fairly natural through my fringe.

Straight away I remembered how think I plucked mine at that age so I took her to a beautician to get the nice shape and now she just plucks the strays away. I will take her to the beautician to have them waxed every 3 months because if there is one thing I regret, it's attacking my eyebrows when I was her age...

I once did a dreadful thing and shaved my eyebrows. They are quite full eyebrows naturally and it was possibly the worst thing I've done. 20 years on a patch in my eyebrow still doesn't seem to grow back to how it used to be. I use a eyelash tint on my eyebrows to colour them (even if it is colouring the skin a bit to create an illusion). My mum and I call this process 'man eyebrows'.

Great shaped eyebrows are so important as a frame for the face. My problem is probably having too many hairs which don't seem to like being tamed. I also never really achieve a true arch either as my brows are quite flat. I go to a professional eyebrow shaper / waxer every couple of months for a touch up, but between appointments I do my best to manage the strays.

My eyebrows are a constant battle from over-plucking in my late teens and after a very very bad experience I will no longer let any beautician wax them!! I'm going to stick to plucking, the past few months I've been growing them so I've got a brow pencil and brow gel in my handbag constantly, slowly getting there.........

i stuffed mine up the first time i plucked them & theyve been uneven ever since! ladies, tell your daughters that they should always get someone else to do them the first time (mum or beautician)

Oh gosh $70..i dont think i could fork out that much for the occassional spot in my eyebrows (as i do them myself--sometimes a bit too heavy handed as well)..

I think leaving my eyebrows for the professionals will be better since you'll be confident of the results.

i tried pro waxing and didnt like the result - so i pluck myself trying to follow that 3 point stencil rule to follow the natural shape... the eyebrow pencil is my best friend... i dont know if i can justify $70 for a gel..

Very useful article, I had never heard of brow gel before. I have wild eyebrows, VERY long hairs which need to be regularly plucked and sometimes trimmed because of their length. I also have gaps in some places. I'll be looking out for the eyebrow gel.

People say I have a good eye brow shape but they don't look closely and see how they are long but few so I have to use a clear mascara gel to comb and keep them in place all day. Should I trim them and then use a brow pencil...hmmm...

When I first started to experiment with beauty I did overpluck my eyebrows and on the inner edges they now are a bit sparse. Not the best look I can tell you.

I forgot to mention, to help cover the sparse bits you can put a bit of eyelash tint onto your eyebrows and it stains the skin a bit and will last a bit longer than just filling them in with eyebrow pencil.

I have kept the same shape in my brows for years. I've been wanting to slightly change it, but cant stand the messy look of stray hairs and once I remove them, I'm back to the same shape. Brow gel sounds really cool. An absolute saviour for ladies like me who are fair and end up looking like Brook Shields in the 80 when eyebrow pencil is used!!

I think the eyebrows maketh the woman. This is great advice and time and effort should be given to the brows - if they look dodgy - your whole face does I think!

Model Co has a new product which has eyebrows in a tube of a gel consistency so you use that to fill in the gaps. Looks wierd, but it stays on.

I have thicker brows but have a scar running right through my right one thanks to a teenage accident. I always use a pencil just to join that little gap. I find a bit of moisturiser keeps my hairs aligned nigely too.

The one feature I would be most obsessed with would be my brows and I am forever plucking them, shaping them and filling them in with a brow pencil. I haven't tried a brow gel before and must give this a try.
