Q) "Over the years, I have constantly altered the shape of my brows from thick to thin, from arched to straight. Over-plucking has taken its toll and I have many sparse gaps in my brows, which I fill in with a brow pencil. Are there any alternatives for making my brows appear full again?" - Mel, Victoria
A) "Absolutely! Getting the right shape is the first step, followed by learning to fill them in correctly," advises celebrity brow specialist Sharon-Lee.
"Too many women make the mistake of being heavy handed when doing this. What is used to fill in the brow is very important. Pencil looks like pencil and powder just doesn't have the staying power or give real definition. Water-resistant brow gel is the answer. It's easy to apply, lasts and, above all else, looks incredibly natural."

Product pick:
Sharon-Lee EyeBrow Gel ($70) comes in Passion (light taupe for deep brown natural brows), Patience (light, warm brown suitable for blondes), Perseverance (chocolate brown) and Humour (nearly black for very dark natural brows only). Available from selected Myer stores nationally. Call 1300 769 011 for stockists.

If you can beat out her celebrity clients and snag a session, Sharon-Lee Clarke does brow makeovers (minor miracles!) at her Studio, Level 1, 308-310 New South Head Road, Double Bay, Sydney (1300 769 011 ). Her arch-perfecting team has also just opened a Sharon-Lee Studio at Melbourne's Como Centre in South Yarra (03 9824 0330).

The one feature I would be most obsessed with would be my brows and I am forever plucking them, shaping them and filling them in with a brow pencil. I haven't tried a brow gel before and must give this a try.

I sooooo need to see one of the Eye Brow Queens - I seem to get just the right shape, then I don't have time to maintain them, then desperately need to tidy the 'forest' only to stuff it up because I'm in a rush! I do love the Mirenesse eyebrow gel though.... ;)

I also over plucked my brows as a teenager (when the pencil thin was in) They have never grown back as thick. I'm lucky they aren't patchy though. I just pluck the strays (with my fabulous La-Tweeze tweezers) and I don't need to worry about pencils or powders. I only use my powder if I'm going out and want to enhance my arch. The gel pens sound very interesting though.

I'd love an appointment with Sharon Lee. It's amazing how much a well shaped brow makes a difference to ones face.

Wow, I really need an appointment with a professional like Sharon Lee. Hairdressers never seem to shape my eyebrows in the right way to suit my face. But now after reading this hopefully i can steer them in the right direction and maybe try plucking for myself!
Thanks!

i cant shape my own eye brows, when ever i try to pluck it ends up looking terrible, i think it is one of those things that you should be taught as a teenager but i never was. i have blonde eyebrows and luckily they never look like a mono brow but i usually have them waxed by a professional ever 4 - 6 weeks. lazy easy way out i know.

I to missed out on the eye brow plucking lessons in my youth, so mine look loke a small chiild drew them on with a blunt hb pencil. I am considering having them tatto'd on, I am told this technique has come far in the last few years, and look much more natural than the old days, where ladies would look in a constant state of suprise.

I get mine done by a beautician then maintain them myself for three months, then get them done by the beautician again to maintain shape.

Eyebrows are so important as they frame your face. Do yourself a favour and see a professional or get the gel

I overplucked my eyebrows when i was younger. I now get a beautician to wax them and also get them tinted. Tinting, colours some of the fine hairs and makes your eyebrows look thicker.

i always overpluck. in high school for about a year i had an incident where i accidentally lost half an eyebrow. i had to colour it in and make it look real. it was dredful! now im more careful; i keep them thin- it suits my face more, but i dont over do it. i keep the natural shape there!

With blonde eyebrows I have always found it hard to shape them. And mine are so long. I really don't like my shaggy eyebrows...

I've been trying to shape my brows by myself some time and figured it doesn't work! They end up being different shapes and looking like I've hired a pack of mice to do the job. I also like to keep them as natural as I can. On second thoughts I think it best to leave it to the professionals.
