The brains behind beautyheaven

Okay, so we're certifiable beauty nuts. We're obsessed with lotions, potions and powders, and gush about our favourite finds like most people talk about family. It's love.

But we're also clued up. We've got a combined history of more than 20 years in the beauty industry and, in our other lives, run beautydirectory.com.au, the Australian beauty editors' research tool and secret weapon. So suffice to say, the bh team has the contacts and the cred, not to mention some rather impressive make-up moves…

Meet the bh team...

Annalise: Client Connoisseur

Annalise works in what we affectionately call ‘The Fishbowl’. What happens in The Fishbowl, stays in The Fishbowl so we can’t reveal too much, but what we can tell you is that she looks after the beauty brands to ensure that they get the most out of their membership with us. Never one to stress at work, Annalise is always smiling - she seems to have a lot of fun in the office. She’s a great person to bump into and have a chat with whilst in the kitchen making an afternoon cuppa!

Carli: Multi-Tasking Maestro

Carli has her fingers in many beautyheaven pies. She’s not only in charge of getting all the brand info live on the site (so that all the important stuff is right there at your fingertips), but she also co-ordinates the Trial Teams, ensuring that products get into the hands of our trusted troop! Carli also regularly dons her celebrity cap to keep you up to speed with all the A-lister gossip and fashion trends in the form of our much loved galleries. Carli was recently the victim of a hair dyeing disaster, however with the support of her family and friends is slowly getting over the trauma.

Debbie: Seriously Hair-Unskilled Editor

As Editor, Debbie is constantly immersed in beauty content, making sure there are daily fresh and fabulous beauty articles for all you beauty junkies out there. She trials everything from moisturisers and make-up, to Brazilian waxes and brown hair dye (her tresses were tested to the extreme when she took a leap from blonde to brunette and back again!). While Deb can write about hair like a real pro, you’ll never catch her actually recreating the look herself as she’s strangely incapable of styling her own strands (despite many attempts to teach her). Deb also moonlights as a foodie and a dating specialist.

Di: Debt Collector

In charge of all things dollar related, Di manages all invoices and accounts (sounds pretty boring eh?!). To her benefit she has the driest sense of humour in the office and is the queen of sarcasm, plus she’s been here since the beginning so we’re not sure beautyheaven would survive without her! Di is also the Duchess of Balmain, making her more beneficial than a Google search if you ever want to know anything about the area or its inhabitants.

Jackie: The Big Kahuna

Jackie is our CEO, mind-changing manager and mother hen all wrapped into one fabulous parcel. Some days she’ll be so busy with important beautyheaven decision-making she can’t even look up. Other days she’s as excited as a kid on Christmas and will flit around the office in the hope of starting an impromptu dating seminar or injecting a bit of fun and liveliness into the office. She is the first port of call with anything outrageously funny or supremely serious – and despite her ‘Big Boss Lady’ title, she always has time for a social outing meeting, a boyfriend-related blubber, or a 20-minute convo about the latest killer lipstick.

Kate: Ad-Serving Goddess

Kate’s our ‘go-to-girl’ for anything really: shopping tips, relationship advice, supplement know-how, but in her beautyheaven role she’s our ad scheduling guru. Kate makes sure all of the ad campaigns run smoothly, she forecasts the amount of traffic we have coming up, works on our renowned post-campaign reports and keeps that hawk’s eye of hers on beautyheaven daily: all with her infectious laugh and ridiculously positive nature. Kate is also a not-so-closet shopaholic who is often found stashing her clothes and shoes at the office as she can’t fit them into her apartment.

Kym: Sales Superwoman

Kym loves a shop, a chat and a good night out, especially in a fine dining restaurant. Luckily for Kym her job allows her to do at least one of the three. Kym is always on the phone having a chat to her clients to make sure they’re ok (often talking about things completely unrelated to work!), but when she’s in full-on work mode she guns to get the best packages at the best possible prices for her clients. Kym’s clients all seem to love her just as much as we do – it’s impossible not to as she’s always smiling and always sees the silver lining in any situation.

Laina: Organic Advertising Extraordinaire

Laina’s our resident sales guru, and the one to thank for all the Trial Team goodies that find their way to your mailbox. She’s responsible for all the advertising on bh and the amazing partnerships we have with all your favourite beauty brands. Once a junk food addict, Laina is now a natural and organic advocate who’s officially kicked her Red-Bull-for-breakfast habit.
Laina cuts a fringe at least twice a year, wears it for a week, and then pins it up never to be seen again (until next time that is!).

Leanne: All-Seeing Site Manager

Leanne was instrumental in building beautyheaven from the ground up and works with our web development agency and designers to help turn the bh team’s technical ideas into reality, making sure you get the most out of your daily beauty reviews, news and how-tos! With two gorgeous kids (one of which Liv has tried to adopt on a number of occasions), Leanne is also our resident ‘Mum and Baby’ blogger, beautorium coordinator, and recruiter of all interns (so if you’re looking for work experience contact Leanne!). Oh and since Leanne is originally from Wales, the way she pronounces ‘toothbrush’ provides hours of comic relief for the office.

Natalie: Designer With a Difference

Natalie (or Natty-Pants as we like to call her) is our resident design expert. She spends her day playing with Pantone colours, designing different backdrops for bh, and creating a whole lot of the eye-catching ads that you come across on our site. Natty-Pants also happens to be our video extraordinaire. Apart from filming all of our videos, she also does whatever it is one does to transform our outtakes and mistakes into the fab footage that is bhTV. Natty-Pants loves a good cup of tea, hates hugs, and can ‘plank’ (the exercise version!) like a pro.

Olivia: ‘Quirky’ Content Producer

Liv reckons she’s the funniest person in the office. Rachel disagrees. Either way, she’s one very busy girl. Between spending her days attending amazing product launches and trialling the newest beauty buys, she’s also responsible for much of bh’s ‘bang-on-trend’ (coincidently her favourite three words) content, and coordinating the office social calendar. In her spare time Liv loves to perfect her awkward lean, look at photos of Justin Beiber (and try to include him in our beauty content in any which way), tell us all about her ‘quirky’ qualities, and come up with ways to outdo Rachel in the humour stakes.

Rachel: Director of First Impressions

Rach is beautyheaven’s radiant receptionist. She is the first point of call for those that ring us up or drop by bh HQ. She greets couriers with a smile (yes, even the smelly ones!), promptly responds to member queries and makes sure everyone gets an awesome cake on their birthday. Rach is also closely rivaling Liv for the ‘Funniest Girl in the Office’ and ‘Shortest Dress’ awards.

Sarah: Marketing Master

Sarah was thrown into the role of beautyheaven’s marketing master when bh’s Tara went on maternity leave in September. Sarah’s job is to market and promote beautyheaven around town and we think she does a pretty stellar job! As the tallest member of staff and the one with the best accent (she’s from New Zealand bro), she certainly hasn’t faded into the background
